I didn't mean to rub you the wrong way. Sorry if that was how you saw it. Sorry to hear about your post 9-11 situation. I bought a 17" for $100 several months ago from BestBuy. I know that TigerDirect has loads of them, even 19" for ~$130, but I don't think that is really what you wanted.

You can't. Those techs only exist as a path to Final Frontier, the tech victory. It would be cool if you could, but the only way I know how to create stars and planets is to use the scenario editor in Altarian Prophecy! ;)
Ur-Quan Masters is an excellent example of fan supported development! Played it a few months ago. I agree that it and sf2 have a lot in common. They are both excellent games! By the way, the mount thing worked, thanks.
OK, so I got DOSBox. Nothing is happening. How do you actually get a game to load--I read the readme, but no dice.
Hypertrade is definitely at 90. Don't have any idea about the evil techs.
Tartan
LOL Which one?
1-You start a new game, then another, then another, then another--but first, buy the game!!! You'll love it, guaranteed. 2-Logistics is a fairly new addition to the game. It means that you are required to pay for some projects, like starbases, up front. It makes starbases more valuable to the player than they have been in the past (some people built >100 in a single game!!) You are definitely welcome to this community! Make sure to check out the empires forum. That is a wh
Arby's, roast beef sale. ;) Actually, when they made the empires forum alot of the post traffic went over that way. The goal was to free up the main forum for questions/noobs/etc. It worked a little too well, I think.
Thanks, Star Pilot. I'll give that a try.
I hate to break it to you, but the game will only run in 1024x768. You're going to have to spend the $100 or so to get a monitor that will support it. I understand your pain. (:(
Hey, guys, this thread inspired me and I pulled out Starflight 1 this evening. Does anyone know if there is a way to get your speakers to take the signal from the internal PC speaker (sf1 uses the PC speaker)? I can't hear hardly any of the sounds. Thanks for the help and the nostalgia!! LOL
Also, the original developers of Starflight came up with a game called Protostar. It looked a lot like the Sierra games (Space Quest, etc). Not that great, really. I loved the first two. I'm glad to hear that they are coming up with a real third game. I always loved the little astronaut that hobbled around the spaceport! LOL I should have known there would be other StarFlight veterans around here.
By the way, Capt Scurvy, have you thought about joining the GROSS empire. They are the pirates around here. It sounds from your name like you'd go well there.
The only advantage I've ever seen of being neutral or near-neutral is that you can play much faster games. Just ask Alex. [Message Edited]
No luck yet, as far as I know.
One way or another means either as a separate purchase or as part of a Drengin.net subscription.
Frogboy, I ran into several problems trying to download, but Pat changed the format of the download (rather than one big zip file, it downloads several small ones). It downloaded just fine, and I've already played a game. Looks great!
I noticed that when you have a morality event, a scroll bar appears over on the right side of the text, blocking the last part of the text. It doesn't happen for all events so I'll look for which ones it does happen with and get back to you. bonscott, the Pure Good thing is just the default now. You can adjust them at will--or pick one of the custom designs where it assigns them according to the scenario you pick. [Message Edited]
I'm a toss up between royal blue and forest green.
We're still looking for Mitch88--he posts in the Strategies forum all the time. We're hoping he'll see this and come over for a visit. There are still others as well.
The designers decided against multiplayer so they could make the game "story" more developed. I think they did a great job (they say GalCiv2 may have a multiplayer option). Canibusism, if you're looking for competition, join the Diplomat Empire and compete with the other empires in the Metaverse. Check out our website http://diplomats.galciv.org
Also, any mods you are using with GalCiv with carry over automatically to AP.
LeronPechtel, you are a genius. In fact, Stardock already implemented your first suggestion for the latest AP beta. Wow!! Synergy!
Ah, Theoden beat me to it. By the way, if you are looking to join an empire, come check out the diplomats at http://diplomats.galciv.org
I'd say something about empire recruiting in the galactic forum, but then I'd have to post and disagree with myself. LOL Anyway, I hope you find them (and hopefully, they haven't been brainwashed by the Yor!)
