Problems with refresh rate

My normal monitor blew up and the only replacement I have does not support over 60hz above 800x600, as soon as the game starts it goes of the monitor as out of range, is there anyway to restric either the refresh rate or get the resolution to 800x600

Majorly bummed :sniff!:

I hate to break it to you, but the game will only run in 1024x768. You're going to have to spend the $100 or so to get a monitor that will support it. I understand your pain. (:(

Unfortunatly, you don't understand it. NO JOB, been out of work since Sept 11 2001, I am an IT techniction in NEVADA and jobs are not here, or for that matter anywhere.
I can run at 1024x768, but have to get the refresh rate down to 60, and where can you find a 19 inch monitor for 100 bucks, hell I haven't even seen a decent 17 inch for that matter.
A 15 inch just isn't big enough for any game play, so what your saying is might as well give it up >:(

I didn't mean to rub you the wrong way. Sorry if that was how you saw it. Sorry to hear about your post 9-11 situation.

I bought a 17" for $100 several months ago from BestBuy. I know that TigerDirect has loads of them, even 19" for ~$130, but I don't think that is really what you wanted.

Go to the monitor settings (right-click on an empty spot on your desktop, click on "Properties"), go to the "Settings" tab, use the slider to select 1024x768, click the "Advanced Settings" button, go to the "Monitor" tab and choose "60Hz" refresh rate. Then click on "OK," then "OK," then you should be "OK." :)

(You can then select the desktop size that you usually have, but every time something asks for 1024x768 resolution - like GC :) - it will go to 60Hz refresh rate.)

Glen I don't know if you are considering relocating, here in Florida we have jobs, but the salary is not the same as Nevada, realy big cut on salary. But you can find something in your area of expertise, many electronic companies are moving here to Orlando. Sorry for your situation. I play the game at work on a 15" tv, it is true is a little bit slower, but still it plays.

Well, thanks for the invite, but unfortunatly just moved from CA to Nevada. Sorry for the flame, been a long time since and kinda gets you jumpy, I found some 100 $ 19 monitors on pricewatch, but no coin, no monitor. I have tried restetting the refresh rate to 60 and honestly every other game I have played has worked, even SWG. I used reforce to fix the refresh rate, XP has an issue with the native overide in the display drivers. Game is working now, thanks for all your suggestions and support.
