While, I think the Crusade UI is much better overall, I absolutely agree, we do need some controls like this.

Because I play mostly sandbox, my personal picks would be: - Precursor worlds - Lost Treasures -Mercenaries I think the scenario ones are really cool, though, so if you like that kind of content than it is easy to recommend those as well. Not many 4x games appear to do that type of content.
@Frogboy, I have noticed a significant bump in recent positive reviews for GalCiv 3 (currently sitting at 83%). Do you think this is going to help improve visibility? I hope it get more positive attention in the post-Crusade world.
One thing that would easily fix this is if the game in general would recognize this behavior and form a coalition against me. I can divide and conquer, but I probably can't fend off the entire galaxy at once.
Underlined for emphasis. I would like to see this. As a player, if I see a AI gaining snowball momentum and running away with the power creep, I will do what

I think people let Valve off the hook way too easily. Their platform has some long running flaws that they should get called out on. While things have improved somewhat, there's still visibility issues with the store-front, and the platform is being gamed by unscrupulous 'developers' looking to make a quick buck with their shit-house 'games'.
It had a buggy release. Patch support has been pretty fast, and great. Still some things that need to be worked on, but all up I think it is absolutely fantastic.
I thought the game already collected telemetry?
I'm still fiddling around. I would have said before the initial 2.14 that pop is a much lower priority, mainly due to the tech trees being borked and not having access to the majority of the entertainment tree. Before the update on the 15th, pop was useful. I haven't played with the new city cap, which could make the pop game a lot more relevant again, but yeah, still very much experimenting with the new mechanics.
I apologize if I've offended anyone and don't want to come across as over-sensitive. Had this tech been on the Arceans, I wouldn't have minded since they're neutral. But this just leaves a bad taste in my mouth for such a great game.
You have taken some time to make your case and I totally respect that. However, I'm not entirely convinced that it is one that supports changing any in game flavor text. Rather, I would ask you whet

Give it some time. I had to spend a few hours updating mine, and I only have one. Gauntlet has a lot more if he wants his entire set of custom races on steam. Doing a full set is quite time intensive.
The two broad camps that the negative reviews fall into: those who experienced the bugs and those who don't like the new mechanics. The first is totally fair, the second is for the most part more subjective, and given how much has been revised mechanically, is somewhat expected. Many of the reviews in the second camp have outlined how their favorite exploit-crutch (confusing this for 'strategy') has been removed, or cannot back up the argument with anything more than 'I don't like this so qq'
How much improvement to Crusade are you willing to forfeit for the base game to get more features? That is, the budget is the budget.
I'm pretty biased here, but I think Crusade should be the focus. S'far as I'm concerned it is the definitive version of the game -- one which I can see myself playing for a quite a long time. I also think that the more support and attention you throw a
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but most of the ring paths are mutually exclusive. For, eg: If you set up a starbase and add a mining ring to it, you cannot then add an economic ring or a cultural ring. Some upgrades span all of the main rings, though like weapons systems, scanners etc. Also, I think archaeology labs can be added to any starbase too.
If you're playing Crusade, you don't upgrade with constructors anymore -- you simply click the upgrade you want and it will upgrade providing you have the resources. Tool tip should tell you if you're missing any.
I've seen the argument made that diplo needs to be further updated for base game. Its looks to me that diplomacy in Crusade is tied to systems like citizens, so how you would go about it,. I don't know. Multicore AI and MP enhancements would be good to add. Although, do a lot of people play multiplayer?
yes... if you own the planet it is next to. You get the buff. I'm definitely looking forward to its next appearance!!
is that a bit unfair to those who multiplayer , what of future dlc , will you have to have crusade
What you may need to keep in mind is that with the all the technical and gameplay changes that came with Crusade, it could realistically be impossible. You could probably disable crusade and play another version of the game with your friend.
Yep, opt in fixes a lot of stuff, inc most* performance issues. At least from my experience.
