It might help the devs see this if the thread was in the support forum. Can anyone move it?
The original poster can move the thread by editing the original post, selecting "Category" in the header, and then choosing "GC3 Support" from the drop down list. Just as an FYI, since kestlstw created a new thread.

This sounds like a bug that should be reported ASAP. Please go open a support ticket for it, especially if you have a saved game that exhibits the behavior where you get the message every turn. Instructions for how to open a support ticket are at the bottom of this post . You can attach your saved game to the ticket.
A number of research topics (e.g. Atmospheric cleansing) are greyed out and I don't know why. Some have "disabled for beta" but others don't have this message and I don't know if this is intentional, a bug or if I'm missing some dependency and the display is not making that clear.
In GC3 technology research is divided into three "Ages" (shown at the bottom of the research screen). You can't research a technology in a given age until you&#
This has been a problem with every single version of GC. Autosaves are taken after the ships are produced, but before they are launched. So if you load an autosave after a crash, you have to go examine each and every world/shipyard to see if you had produced a ship that you wanted to be launched, and eject it yourself. In earlier versions it would also leave planets that had finished a project idle, but at least in GC3 idle planets are brought to your attention. Seve

I started a new game with 5.3, using a custom race I had created in 5.2. I was elected UP Chairman with several major races voting for me. Haven't tried it with a race created in 5.3, if that's the difference.
Yes, I concur with Seilore, Private invites to Beta 6. Let your 'Trusted Alpha's' get the demanding testing that you need done. I promise to waste..errr test all 48 hours of this weekend if allowed.....
Stardock did do something like that in the GC1 beta. They selected a group of beta testers to participate in the gamma test.

I would like to send you the file, now GalCiv3.old, to dissect, as well as the 3 error logs I have from trying to figure it out. Can you provide an email for me to send them to? Rats. If it's not out tonight, tomorrow, or Saturday, I'll be on the road for home with very limited internet and probably won't be able to download it until Monday May 4th.
As long as they take care of the crashes and major bugs, the average new player is not going to be as sensitive as we are to balancing problems and little issues that piss us off. During development of GC1, after the last beta there was a gamma test, where all the features were in and no more were introduced, the entire focus of the gamma testers and developers during that period was on finding and fixing bugs, not adding anything new. I am hopeful that GC3 Beta 6 will serve the same function, as the current list of bugs maintained by Seilore is rather large, and the number of enhancements in Beta 6 (which includes all the governmental techs and presumably all th
The description of the tech is wrong, has been wrong all along, has confused many people, and has never been fixed. It affects all ships produced on all planets. It allows you to put more components on a hull in the ship designer.
The mini-map on the trade route screen cuts off the top, bottom, and left and right edges. In this screen, the trade route with Altaria goes below the area shown by the map, approximately to where the arrow is pointing:
Neat. Looks like they carry shields! I finally finished my organic ship set. Or at least I can call it finished, it has one of each hull class. While I'm very happy with how they came out, I got really sick of making them, so I think I'm done with them for a while. Back to boxes in space! I know I've posted videos before, so there is really only two new designs, the large and huge hulls.
I opened ticket #HRM-647-33390 for this and submitted a saved game.
Ah, I hadn't noticed that. It just so happened that the colors seemed to match their current disposition to me :-)
No, I haven't. I also haven't tried ejecting the ship to see what it would do. I guess I'll make a save in case the developers want it and then try something like that.
Seilore, there already is such a colored circle around the planets, are you just suggesting it should be more prominent? Dang, forum quote feature isn't working again.
I culture flipped the planet Telana II from the Krynn. It had been defended by a cutter, and after the flip the cutter remained in orbit defending my planet: That's Telana II in the upper right, you can see the shield indicating that it's defended, and the tooltip showing the cutter is Krynn.

Thanks, Seilore. I take your point, and the circles under each civ in the diplomacy window do match what you say. But I was actually responding to Larsenex, who said "Now look at the circle, close and ally are the inner ring, and angry/furious would be outer ring." Which doesn't seem to be the case for me. Maybe that was a suggestion, not a description of how it works. Also, for some reason the forum post quote feature isn't working for me today.
I could be wrong, but it's my understanding that the Drone Carrier carries drones that have beam weapons, while the Guardian Carrier has guardian fighters that have mass driver weapons.
As the UP chairman, I selected a vote on a galactic celebration that would tax 10% and raise approval by 20 or 25% (sorry, I don't remember the name). Anyway, I voted yes, everyone else voted no except the Drengin who defied the vote. Since I had 52% of the voting power, I expected that the resolution would have passed. But two turns later the resolution does not appear on the list of active resolutions, and I don't see any bump in approval. If one race defies a vote, does that negate the
