At least in the Altarian tech tree that I'm using at the moment, the tooltip for Extreme Colonization now says "CanColonizeExtremeWorld+1" which looks more like an XML value name than the name of an improvement.

I just found a couple of stars whose names honor famous science fiction authors: Jack Vance and (Terry) Pratchett. Very appropriate. Looking through StarNamesText.xml I also see Asimov and Clarke (but no Zelazny, there should be a Zelazny).
Another odd thing about this battle is that the pirate ships don't explode when destroyed, they just drift off the right of the window.
This has been happening for me for the past couple of patches/betas. After playing for awhile, when placing the mouse cursor over a ship, sometimes the hit ponts and remaining moves left info has disappeared:
I reported that problem back in Beta 3, had it again in Beta 4, but haven't seen it yet in Beta 5. Sorry to see it's not fixed.
Might be useful for a Babylon 5 mod ...
2) The barren world colonization bug is fixed. Thank you.
Excellent!
7) I still can't tell if morale relics are affecting planetary approval. No indication on Planet UI Approval popup.
Right, I have one that says it's giving me 10% approval, but it doesn't show up in any of the approval tooltips of any of my planets.
I also have a bug, Ive researched barren world and am in fact well past it, yet I can not colonize the planet. Two planets in fact. I did not have this issue prior to last patch.
Is that with the opt-in patch .82 that was released today? It was supposed to have fixed that bug. Of course you might have to start a new game ...
No, it's the normal survey ship you get at the start of the game. I did design a custom survey ship in .81 for the (different) race I was playing then, but this ship isn't of that design, it had more attack/defense than this ship has.
I was playing as a custom faction using Altarian designs. In the .81 games I played I was also using a custom faction, but using a different civ's designs (can't remember for sure, but I think it was Iconian).
In both battles I've had so far (new game started w/.82) when my starting survey vessel has fought pirates, the battle viewer is showing the pirates shooting at my survey vessel, but is not showing the survey vessel shooting at the pirates. Yet the survey vessel has won both battles, and the summary at the end shows it shooting lasers, missiles, and guns at the pirates. So it's just a visual issue in the battle viewer. If I recall correctly, it displayed ok in .81.</
tech screen still does not start with tree. could you add a check box in gameplay options and on the tech screen so the tree becomes the default.
Yes!
I was able to unlock all ideologies even Malevolent which normally I couldn't in just 1 turn. perhaps because I loaded a 0.81 version saved game but want to be sure if anyone else finds this in a new game
In my first game on .82 (I started a new game) the first 10 ideology points were correctly deducted with my first pick, and it took two more colonization events to earn the 20 that were requ
The developers have asked that bug reports be posted in the Support forum. To move this thread there, just edit the original post, select "Category" and select GC3 Support from the drop down list. The bug reports will get faster attention in that forum.
Despite what the tooltips say, the Hyperion buildings affect all ships built on all planets, not just the planet they are built on. As to whether they all actually give the bonus they claim I can't verify. The one that increases ship capacity seems to.
Drat, I'm heading out of town for 3 weeks on Saturday, I was hoping to have the patch tonight to have a couple of evenings for trying it out. Oh well, I'll see how much I can test tomorrow ...
I'd suggest sending an email to .
FYI, Seilore has been doing a great job of listing all bugs reported in the last couple of betas. His list is here. The consolidated list is in the original post. Just in case you want to see what has been reported.
I see a Brutus and a Bruticis in StarNamesText.xml, but no Brutii or Bruttii.
Are you still having an issue with this?
I believe the problem is explained by the fact that the Krynn are cool to me, and I haven't yet been able to raise their disposition. If in fact you shouldn't be able to offer treaties unless relations are good, then this is not a problem.
Do you have the Steam cloud sync enabled? It not only makes copies of saved games, but also your designs.
It's the Farmer trait.
It normally is limited, but there's a racial trait (or maybe ability) that you can choose for a custom race that allows you to exceed the limit. I can't remember what the name of it is at the moment and I'm not at my GC3 computer or else I'd give you the name.
i wonder if its just trying to fill out the furthest ring first and works in with 6 being the max per ring?
Could be.
I have used it in the past with another (Steam) game to be able to continue a game on one computer that had been saved on another. Since I only have one computer now capable of running GC3, it's a useless feature for me too, so I've turned it off.
Although putting the iridium on the inner circle would have spaced it out much better
Right, that's why I thought it meant something.
