I researched Precursor Technologist and can find no tooltip on any planet, crystal, or relic that shows any effect from it. Maybe it does do something, but I can't find where it's shown to the player.
Bug was caused by one race measuring its factionpower vs. your military power (which is only 1 component of faction power).
Only one race? Because in my game it's the Krynn, Yor, and Iridium all doing it. Anyway, thanks!
I'm not sure at what point it started happening, since I wasn't checking diplomacy every turn, but I noticed that for some reason all of the AIs now have a line in their relations tooltip that says "You are weak": The thing is, as shown in the screen shot, I'm #1 in all categories, including military, so why do they think I'm weak? My civ power rating is 488, th
It's all races, AFAIK. I personally think the flavor text name should be different for each faction, myself. The factions who tend toward benevolence, for instance, shouldn't be into slave trading. [e digicons];)[/e]
Exactly.
I can see only one logical answer here. Steam must be backing up the galciv data on custom ships/factions/etc to it's cloud, and then redownloading them during installation
Right, turn off the Steam Cloud sync. I had lots of saved games reappearing after I'd deleted them until I did that.
I'm playing a custom race that uses the Terran tech tree. The tooltip for the Research Treaty tech shows that it unlocks Slave Brokering instead of a research treaty. Having researched the tech, I can verify that in the trading window Slave Brokering is indeed what is made available for trading, which according to its tooltip does not give any research benefits. I see the Slave Brokering treaty in talking to both Iconians and Iridium. <img src="https://dl.dropbox
2) i think i heard somewhere that the techs you offer show up as the tech tree of the race you are trading with.....
Now that makes sense as an explanation ... although it's very confusing and I don't see why it needs to be done that way. Anyway, I was trading with one of the built-in minor races (not a mod), so I suppose it could have been using the Drengin tech tree (although it's using the Pragm
It's a known issue and Derek has requested that everyone who experiences it open a support ticket - they need all the information they can get to debug it. The problem can occur for both the battle viewer and the invasion screen, and Derek discusses it with respect to the invasion screen in this thread. It appears he has a couple of fixes in the works, but it's a complex problem and multiple fixes might be n
I'm playing as a custom race that is using the Terran tech tree. When I go to the trade window I see techs listed on the left hand side (where the techs I have and can trade) that I haven't researched and aren't in the Terran tree. The screen shot shows the tech Mental Exploitation, which is in the Drengin tech tree, not the Terran tech tree. And no, I haven't traded with the Drengin for it, the Drengin are not in my game. <img src="https://dl.dropbox
I'm seeing this also. I haven't upgraded either of the ships in the fleet exhibiting the problem. Not sure what I might have researched that might have affected them.
The display in the upper right that shows your resources can allow them to overlay each other. In this screen shot the Elerium and the Manufacturing Relic are on top of each other (extreme upper left). In the screen shot you can see the tooltip for Elerium, if I move the cursor a pixel or two to the right the tooltip changes to show the Manufacturing Relic: I have a saved
I've seen the same thing. It kind of looks like the damage settings in those little ship icons from the previous battle are carried over into a new one.
I'm playing as a custom race using the Terran tech tree, and I see a tech named "TerranLogicticalSupport_Name" with a tooltip description of "TerranLogisticalSupport_ShortDec". The name is clipping and is too long for the box, I could only see the whole name by looking at the pre-req tech and the tooltip of what it leads to:
One more typo: Molecular fabricator C (Iconian planet improvement).
Thanks, added to the list.
Derek has been begging people to open support tickets for this problem. Please do so.

As of the latest patch .95.3, all of the above typos are still in the game, and it's gotten worse, almost all of them are also now in one or more of the various tutorial files. Stardock, please use a simple grep and replace tool to fix them.
Look for a pinned post in this support forum titled something like "General Troubleshooting Tips". There's a link there that will take you to some good debugging information, including how to open a support ticket. I'd post the link myself, but I'm on my phone atm and can't.
I blame quantum fluctuations. Or gremlins.
That is one heck of a good bug report!
Thanks very much, redviper37, I've added those to the list in the original post.
Happened to me in Beta 5, haven't had enough time to play 6 to see it yet. To me this is a must-fix bug.
Quoting Publius of NV, reply 1 In a very early beta the developers asked for one bug per post, but a lot of people never got that message. STFU
Are you seeing someone for those anger issues?
If you have zoom to cursor turned on in the options, you can zoom out, move the mouse pointer where you want to see, then zoom in.
