@tid242, I like your ideas about the tech tree.
One of the things I really enjoy about AOW and similar games is the turn based tactical combat. Getting invested with your units and watching them level up (possibly with a shot of dopamine each time) makes the game more enjoyable. Galactic Civilizations, though, even though it does have unit level ups, has never had the same kind of investment in individual units, mainly because the emphasis has always been on the 4Xs rather than a hero stack or stack of doom. And for GC4 I think that contin
I agree with the Admiral. I don't care who made it, I want the best performing CPU for the price.
To address a couple of your points, I have a mod on Nexus that provides an Administrator Training Institute that works for synthetics, and there's also an excellent mod that reworks the mercenaries, also, I think, available on Nexus mods.
If the release time frame works out I would love to help with the alpha/beta testing.

We've had several cruises cancelled last year and this year, but we are scheduled for long cruises in 2022 and 2023. We are planning on trying to go to Hawaii in August of this year, and are keeping our eyes on what they are requiring as far as proof of vaccination goes. We have the cards that show we were vaccinated, but aren't sure that will be sufficient for the state of Hawaii. You'd think they'd want to restart their tourism industry.
I'm not particularly wild about shipwrecks, but I found this story very interesting. My dad had served aboard another destroyer in that same battle, but had been recalled to the Pentagon before that battle. He had an aerial photograph of the whole squadron taken earlier in the war; I probably still have it around someplace.
As far as I know, Assault fighters are supposed to use missiles, Interceptors beams, and Guardian Drone kinetics. I always design my own carriers using the first carrier component available in the tech tree, and I always get Assault fighters with missiles. I think the predefined carriers may say they carry assault fighters but actually carry interceptors. Have you checked the roles in the battle viewer?
Yes I could turn on surrenders but damnit the Iconians surrendered to the Yor and I turned it off permanently after that.
Same thing happened to me. If GC4 has surrenders, don't let an AI surrender to another AI that it's not at war with.
When it comes to Windows Updates, I tend to be a trailing edge user.
It must be the standard version since the elite founders package that I purchased was $100.
I've asked the same question. How did you find a way to not record the zero score games?
I think Brad has some good ideas here. As someone who micromanages all of my planets because I can't stand not to take advantage of their full potential, I often find myself completely absorbed in the early game and then start losing interest as I achieve dominance and know the game is won. It often takes me three times as long (in days elapsed) to finish a game as to get to the dominant point, because I lose interest in having to manage more and more planets as I defeat the other playe
I admit I haven't tried modifying MapSizeDefs.xml as suggested above, but if you try it, you will have to put it in your mod folder in the right subfolder, enable mods, and start a new game. Changing it in the game's folders won't work.
No. Sometime between initial release and now, I think sometime after Crusade, the scoring system got redone, scores got hugely inflated, and so far as I know no one has been able to figure it out yet. Just out of curiosity, was your score obtained while playing a campaign? I seem to see a lot of ridiculous scores posted when playing the campaigns on Intrigue/Retribution.
Knowing that Bella Thorne was a product of the Disney organization's seemingly endless line of young female stars, I had assumed that she could sing. Take a lesson from this, kids - don't make assumptions.
I watched the landing "live" (with the 11 minute delay of course) on mars.nasa.gov. I've been interested in JPL and the unmanned exploration missions managed there since the 1970s, when, as an undergrad at Caltech working over the summer, I used the computers at JPL to use their image processing programs as a part of my professor's research. That was before the internet, of course, so I had to drive up there - my Caltech student ID got me in the gate. Whenever I'm able to get back to
How do you do that? I've researched a bunch of tech, but nothing obvious is coming up to build. To win a tech victory you have to research 3 or 4 techs some of which are not available to you until the Age of Ascension, then build an Ascension Gate on one of your planets. If you hit the escape key and choose Victory Status, then click on Technology Victory, it will show you which techs are required. You can significantly increase your income through tourism if your cultural influence is high enough. Each tourism planetary improvement is only 1%, but since it's calculated based on
Were you on the 4.1 beta? If so, do you have mods? If so, read the last few posts in this forum thread: https://forums.galciv3.com/503249/page/2/#3799303 The post by Old-Spider describes the procedure he followed to get his game working again.
I tried deleting the core.bin and gc3.bin files from my mods folder and restarting the game, but I'm still crashing from the launcher. I guess when I get a few more minutes I'll try emptying the folder first. Update: I replicated OldSpider's procedure by moving all my mods out of the mod folder and then restarting GC3. It worked, and I got the new files he described. I them moved all my mods back into the folder and relaunched the game. It worked again. I'm now able to load the save I
