That's what I was wondering would we be able to generate one somehow, don't know is the answer but might have a dog at the xml see if it looks possible.
econundrum1
Will it does say a previously unknown planet, that could apply to all equally. Why it was hidden is a good question but hey that would apply to any system.
Osbot one good thing about this game, if the eventual released patch isn't to your liking you can easily mod it back to the old settings.
I like it warp gates are lite friendly and could be an interesting option for making your planets work more efficiently together and for invasion staging posts on the edge of other players territory. I wonder if they could be modded in by hijacking work home system in some way.
I think it probably does go to far in this opt in, though I think reducing it is a good idea it has a big impact on how the game plays. Mind you it makes range a lot more important on larger map sizes. I'd say go for mid way between the old value and the one in this opt-in and try again.
Although this is a "Feature" not a bug, I did point out before the release during Beta 5/6 that only allowing building of the base building then auto-upgrading it was certain to confuse a lot of new players.
You actually need to reference them in a mod to do that and it's a bit complicated.
Install GalCiv2 they are in the directory structure as .png
I've only had one hang where it locked up completely and I had to kill it in the task manager and that was when entering combat after about 4 hours of play, so in that respect I haven't had a particularly bad experience myself.
Actually I think lobbying RAD Tools who make bink is a good idea, they can only say no , (and from what stardock say probably will).
Good tool, thanks.
This fascinating though the discussion of Vietnam is, doesn't resistance actually effect how likely a planet is to resist culture flip rather than invasion? I would love to know though how defense is worked out in planetary invasion, I also think they need to do a lot more work to make that aspect of the game more interesting. I too have never failed to invade a planet.
I can't actually see why RAD Game Tools are so stubborn about not producing an encoder for no commercial use to support game modding communities. Commercial Developers would still have to pay a license fee and it would only make their tool more popular. Commercial developers using the no commercial version would not be an issue as RAD could easily check their license status and tell if video in a game where bink2 encoded. It could only make their format more popular I really don&#
Agree Yes to both, defenses should be tailored to deal with you opponents weapons of course, if fighting an opponent who uses missiles there is no point in putting armor and shields on the ships.
In fact there is an animated PNG format isn't there with full color support, of course Stardock would have to build support for it you can get an APNG plugin for GIMP.
true, isn't there another animated image format though that supports true color, I'm going to look it up sure I happened across it a while ago.
Being good also doesn't mean sitting back and doing nothing while the Dregin murder, eat and enslave others.
You will sometimes get pauses when zooming in and out and panning, these have been signifigantly reduced in the last beta and in 1.0 and 1.1 but it still happens. Think it's to do with how the game makes maximum use of CPU cores to drive AI my theory is it can cause issues when it has to shunt data from main memory to the video memory I suspect if you have more video ram and a very modern system those issues happen less. As I say I get less trouble with this than I
How about allowing it to use Animated Gifs as a stop gap?
Besides as Dregin you eat and enslave other sentient beings, as the "Good Guys" this makes them want to hurt you.
Yes it should add a planet, but I think there where some bugs at least in Beta 6 around the size of the planet.
I actually think the issue they have with bink 1 may be more around it's relative inefficiency and load given the multithreading nature of GC3 it's possible it would lock things up a bit and not run so smoothly. That said they did mention on a dev stream they had looked at the possibility of allowing bink 1 too, although it wasn't clear if they'd reached the conclusion it was a dead end or where still looking at it.
I actually just want the option as sometimes I would like to play with the AI able to surrender and sometimes not just for variety and depending on what sort of game I want at the time.
The getting the negative balance is probably just something that didn't occur to the developers when giving you their balance, fairly easy to patch I would imaging just a bit of code to set the balance to 0 if it's negative before adding it to your balance. Maintenance could still be an issue though so I do still think they should add an option to refuse surrender or gifts.
That's ok after I said that I couldn't see it in there either pleased you managed to find it. Label different from internal name I guess bit of a pain when looking for it.
