Have you directly modded any of the core files? Try verifying local files on steam sounds like an issue with the texture our model file for the default ship it displays.

Indeed I have an idea for a very malevolent race who use influence to conquer, well sort of anyway. You can certainly malevolent cowards.
Really though it is logical that if an alien who has not got universal translator trys to talk to me and I do have it we can talk since I can translate in both directions. But that said ai and humans should play by the same rules.
Don't take it too seriously. Just trying to point out that good doesn't have to mean passive and there are other perspectives. We all know that the good/neutral/evil thing is at best a caricature of the many and various morale codes of the real world.
Cool I wondered myself where they got defined. Should have considered they are treated as resources.
It seems to me perfectly logical that two factions can communicate as long as one of then has universal translator.
Well you can't really be a founder as such now the game is released. Maybe t though they will have other deals at some point in the future.
That's probably something to do with another background program demanding attention. Try disabling some of the stuff in your system tray before you play. Some programs do this if they are sent an update. ITunes goes further and will minimize anything your doing.
Yes that happens if you tell it to save as template.
Thats kinda the point, the only thing I lost was the money I spent on being a founder. Nothing in the scheme of things. I wonder just how many bad reviews a game can take? I think I saw a post about that from a dev, so someone has does the numbers. Why do the 3rd iteration of space strat games always suck, cough MoO 3, cough
Guess we just don't agree and as for reviews Gc3
You'll also find you get a whole lot of colonisation events that make no sense for synthetic life. I'm avoiding them until some of this is fixed.
For me I realised the gc3 would be successful when I found myself doing the just one more turn thing when I really needed to stop playing and get on with some stuff. Gc2 have me one more turn disease as well. Gc3 is already a good game but is also rapidly getting better. People do forget how much was added to Gc2 in free patches and expansions.
It means they've fixed some memory leaks but y there may still be others.
Remember a lot of people having fun with the game are too busy playing to review. People for whom it's crashing a lot will have more time on their hands to write reviews. [e digicons]^_^[/e]
What should happen is after it finishes scanning, it the requires any corrupted files straight away by downloading them. Maybe you need to do a disk-check if it's saying the files are corrupted again. Have you manually edited any of the local files in the past, and do you have any mods?
XML is actually pretty easy to learn and that link pendrokar game you is the best place to go to learn, use notepad++ to edit XML, at least I find that best. It's open source so it's free and you can just google for it.
Yes sometimes even good people have to choose the lesser of two evils and to do nothing is also a choice. If I'm out giving food to the homeless and I see a man beating a little girl what is the good action to carry on feeding the homeless and ignore them; or do I stop him physically if necessary? Which is the good action there? Calling someone else to physically stop him is just abdicating responsibility, and choosing to do something is still a choice if I could have chosen to st
The existing wormholes are one way and not controllable. And it seems to me so far (could be wrong) that only survey ships can use them. Not so sure I think that's a good idea either...it allows one to contact other factions that you ordinarily wouldn't meet for a long time. It's a sticking point for me that the "feel" of the game ought to reflect the fact that you are dealing with galactic distances. &nb
Please can we have the excel sheet you generate the tech trees from. I have a great idea for a new faction but they need a very different tech tree and modding it purely in the xml is painful. I know you've mentioned you might make this available before.
As the dregin you have slave pits, you eat and torture your slaves. Should a good empire stand by and do nothing. Just because you have not attacked them yet. All that's required for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.... Winston Churchill I believe.
I don't necessarily like this new change either, though actually it did kind of make tight clusters more like islands as I believe was originally intended. It also made range more important and changed the nature of the game. I actually like the idea puff having the base number set on a slider as it has a huge affect on how the game plays out. I imagine once steam workshop integration is online that there while be hundreds off easy to download
Thinking about it I don't think you could repurpose worm holes since you'd need game code to allow you to set the endpoint. I think they could be good though as a late game high level tech strategic option. I don't think they would work well in the early game they should be a major tech achievement.
Fair enough but since wormholes do exist in the game and allow instant transit over huge distances. A technology to generate a wormhole type stargate remains a possibility.
Stargates in lore are inefficient because you need to build one at both ends with ftl constructors that is not an issue.
