Multiple interconnected sliders suck. They are bad UI, and it's good that they're dead and not coming back. A slider is for when you have one thing to control. When you have several, you use something suited to the task. At some point these complaints about sliders start to feel like people want it because that's how it was before and they're used to it, not because there's any advantage to it.[/quote

Well what should happen is..... Ships should be torn apart by massive gravitational forces long before they reach the event horizon. But supposing some very high level tech prevented this, then the ship would move slower and slower and freeze forever just before it reached the event horizon at least relative to the experience of everyone in the rest of the universe to the people in the ship who knows no one can say what lies beyond an event horizon but they from

Wetballs given you're issue with polls because of how you where raised and the wheel because it's different to the sliders you are used to. .. Do you think you might just be a little bit resistant to change [e digicons]O:)[/e]

Depth is good but not sure what the system discussed her would really add to the game. But by all means make a mod that shows us. Would be a fair chunk of work though.

I'm running it on Windows 7 home premium 64bit. No issues so you should be ok.

Yes don't get me wrong it was painful parting with all that money for a game....but in the long term I feel certain it will be a bargin. [e digicons][/e]
I would have thought that they should have pink skin like us despite evolving in isolation for millennia, that being the mystery. That's where I'm coming from
Why all it would take is a mutation in skin pigmentation? Why do you find that particularly hard to believe. Mind you if you except the semi official Elemental connection the fallen where geneticly altered from the race of men and had the same blue sk

For that you also get to name a star, take part in the beta and the finnished game. You also get all future DLC and Expansions at no extra cost. It's actually a bargin if you think long term and have faith there will be worthwhile expansions and DLC. I went for it after all GC2 with all expansions is still one of my favourite games of all time.

I actually think that is a pretty good idea after all they already have some bits of music in the founder vault. Not sure all the music is ready yet though but could be a quick way to learn a few more bucks and help pay the development budget.

Well the poll does prove at least that on the whole people like the wheel or don't care on way or another. I kind of dislike the buy anything approach, true throwing money at it can accelerate a project but it can't make it instentaneous in real life.

To be honest it sounds like a level of detail few people would want to play at and I speak as someone who loved the ship designer and is looking forward to the new more complex one. But the level of component level detail you are talking about for every device doesn't actually seem to add much, while being rather costly to add. Still I'm the guy who wants custom race lego so who am I to criticise. [e digicons]:)[/e]

Spouses [e digicons]:D[/e] ! As for the future more new unique races I really enjoyed playing as the undead. I'm probably going to buy less DLC once we reach the beta stage to GalCiv3 as I'll be switching to playing that more to be honest. Would say this though I'm pleased that Elemental FE:LH is still getting love and may be enticed back for more DLC if it's the right DLC :-). This is the reason I love stardock.

Although if you publicly posted your Star Trek mod particularly with the ripped video it would cause all sorts of copyright issues. I'm a bit of a Junky for the creative side of the game I spent hours in the GC2 ship designer and building units and soveigns in elemental, was really wishing they'd extend this for custom race creation in GC3. Sadly they haven't and as I'm wary of reusing anyones copy righted material in the way you describe I'm going to have to

I am wondering when or if we can expect more, don't know about you but I'm really hyped about this and can't wait to get more info. I'm a GalCiv3 junky and the game isn't even out yet and won't be for a year.
Right now as far as I can tell all the animations of races are basically just Bink movie files. There currently 3 states (happy/neutral/mad) with a transisition animation. The same applies to the 'small' animated faces you see for each race on the race selection screen, its just a Bink movie file referenced in the XML If you wanted to create a race specific announcer for each one, you'd have to render and create a movie for ea

Well the truth is I didn't hate the robot itself just wanted to feel more engagement with the species I chose to play. The one thing I think moo2 did better on than galciv2.

The robot would also advise you of your relative strength in various areas from time to time and some events too I believe. Removed accidentally quoting myself [e digicons][/e]
