When I end my turns, I move my view to a blank area outside of the galaxy. There are blank spots on each corner of the map that are outside of the active play area. Sure, it's a pain, but my turns only take a few seconds, even late game. It's worth it as a work around. I agree that it shouldn't be necessary, but what else can you do?

Each new colony adds production that you can balance so it costs nothing while adding research and manufacturing to your empire. Once
I hadn't thought of battles between turns. I do mine during the turn. Yes, that would be maddening. I'm not a fan of the little time wasting mini battles that happen when you choose "Quick Battle". It's not quick when you still have to wait through the useless animation. I read somewhere that they cut that time down and even thanked them for it, but I'm not seeing any improvement. Why, oh why would someone come up with a delay timer like that?
The graphics in GalCiv3 don't seem to be all that demanding to me. They're not exactly high def. I'd think getting more memory would be the key to a faster game here. I started out with 8GB and I also play on a laptop that has 4GB and integrated graphics. The laptop is very slow, but handles the game. I upgraded my desktop in steps from 8 to 16 and finally 32GB. I saw a vast increase in perfomance with 16GB, including no more crashes to desk
Dan, what exactly is a "soak" game. I know it's using the codes. Explain please, I'd like to see how my various choices effect the game.
I had some trouble looking that one up, too. Google was no help. Evidently, there's a command you can use called "soak" that makes the machine play the game automatically and without human input. I still don't know exactly what it stands for, but tha
The AI starts cheating above normal. There's a list of cheats it gets somewhere in the forums. I didn't find it bad on anything below "suicidal" though. With the 1.1 opt in, the difficulty names were changed and I'm using the old 1.03 naming convention. Giving the AI a slight edge is worth it IMO. It kinda needs it now, although I'm starting to see the AI using ships that I designed in prior games against me. It's even using my naming convention,
I'm wondering if they shuffled the difficulties a bit when they added the new one in at the high end. I typically play with gifted AI, but am currently seeing genius AI playing about the same as the gifted ones did prior to 1.1. I'm playing vanilla races against vanilla races. I don't know what to say about the pirates. They seem to be about the same as before on my current game.
Yeah, that bug was supposed to be addressed in the 1.1 patch. Are you on 1.1 and if so, did you start the game on 1.1?
I just started seeing founder's stars in my newest game. I'm playing larger maps these days. Gotta say, most seem a tad lame. The decent sounding ones are obviously someone's wife or child. Haven't seen my wife's star in a game yet. I'd be pretty displeased if they dropped it, but there's no reason they would.

I have CCleaner on all of my computers, but never used it to fix a game. Can you give me your settings as far as what you're cleaning? Mine are just set to clean the internet caches and temp files. I don't have a problem with the game slowing do
I've never taken a repair module so far and was wondering the same thing. Good to know. I can't see taking a repair module now if I can squeeze another item on there instead.

Yeah, they're pretty easily provoked. I like that about them, since I know it's a short matter of time before they declare war on me. It leaves the guesswork out. They're usually fairly powerful for some reason too. When I played as them, I thought their tech tree was kinda weak. The Krynn have pretty much the same social skills, although I've seen them smiling before. (A few turns before they started their standard scowl.) In fact, I've seen a go
I picked up a few things. Wolfenstein - The New Order, The Old Blood Dogfight 1942, The Russian Campaign, Fire Over Africa Microsoft Flight Sim X and FSX F-16 Flying Falcon DCS World and Flaming Cliffs 3 Offworld Trading Company
I've had a few crashes, all but one were when I was trying to do more than one thing at a time. For instance, I get a CTD when I try to move a fleet to attack while another is moving to attack if I do it several times quickly. Doesn't matter if it's to attack another fleet or a planet. I've learned to slow myself down, but it's a tad frustrating waiting on the movements and what appears to be an artificial long delay when resolving "quick" battles. Pe
Why, just wondering?
I don't know, TBH. I just never have. I guess it's not like I'm allergic to mods. Not that I'm aware of. Perhaps it's laziness. Now I do have that going for me. :)
I agree and also asked that I be able to turn the background nebula off, but got no response a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for the mod, a0152570. I don't play with mods, though, so can Stardock address this?
Double post. But I still mean it.
How about the Austin location? Ima go by there and give the first Stardock employee I see a big sloppy kiss on the cheek. [e digicons]
Thanks for this, Frogboy! 1. Some easier way to decommission all ships of a class. (eg. click on a C-Surveyor M11 and have an option to decommission all C-Surveyor M11s). 2. A hotkey or easier way to decommission all ships in a fleet or stack of fleets. 3. A hotkey or easier way to obsolete all automatic ship designs. 4. A hotkey or easier way to destroy or overbuild all of a type of structure on a planet. (eg. destroy all labs on
So....no problem. :)
Why? Your logic makes no sense. If you break the game YOU SHOULD BE AS LOUD ABOUT IT AS POSSIBLE so the developers will be motivated to fix it.
My logic is flawless. You should play vanilla races against vanilla races against vanilla races because that's what I prefer.
I disagree with the OP. Starbases should be used to their maximum benefit if someone wants to use them. The idea that you don't want them so everyone should do without is just plain evil. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Bad boy! Anyway, why would I want to stop at 5 starbases per planet? That's fairly simple thinking. Now go back to your corner and think about what you wrote. [e digicons];P[/e]
