I love Founder's Editions but there probably won't be one for GC4. We might do something after release where people can get a lifetime upgrade so they get everything we plan to make.
Thanks, Brad. A lifetime upgrade would be good as well. Count me in. Of course, naming a star was pretty cool, too. I named one for my wife in GC3.

I'm not sure if this has been asked somewhere else, but will we have an opportunity to buy a Founder's package similar to what we did in the beginning of GalCivIII? I'd be interested in one.
I'll defend Santa to the death! (Well, your death, not mine. I'm not a martyr or anything).
A question like that came up in a recent live stream. The staff don't know the answer yet. They are concerned that some people who already use their steam key will simply sell any GOG key they're given to other people. They have no means to enforce that people who use the GOG keys they give out will be the same people who used it on steam. This will be something they have to think about.
Well, if it's ope
Thanks, Kryo. I checked this site and the galciv2 site logged in and logged out. Now, it just re-appeared. Odd stuff.
I'm an Elite Founder. My Founder's badge has been there from the beginning, but is no longer there today. Why has it been removed?
I've never seen my star name ingame, but I did double check to make sure it's in the .xml. Just knowing it's there is enough for me. That, and the thanks they posted to founders in the credits. It took a while, but I finally saw my name in there.
I just got an email that showed GalCiv3 for sale on GOG. That's pretty cool! Can I divorce my Elite Founder's version from Steam now or is that not a thing?

It's certainly worth it, especially at the sale price. It's 1/4 what a lot of us paid in the early access period. I have no regrets paying $100.00 for it and can't imagine having any problem paying $25.00. I'd do it again. The game gets better an better as Stardock works out the bugs and adds features. Most of the new stuff is free, although there are various DLC that might or might not be worth it IMO. The Snathi DLC is well worth it and
Not sure if this is completely relevant to this discussion tbh, but I find guardian drones hard counters carriers pretty easily. If you start to run into carriers just modify your current designs and pop one guardian drone pod on each ship. You get smallish fleet of fighters that priortise shooting down other fighters. Combined with main weapon fire the other fighters go down surprisingly fast and once the fighters are dead its all over.
I've kept up with GC3 and I've watched video gameplay and dev streams. The manual can also be accessed online. My review is not about Stardock's reputation it's about GC2 and GC3 and the differences and noticing what has been added and improved.
You have zero credibility. How about buying the game, playing a few hundred hours and then coming back and speaking to it?

Everyone has their own playstyles, so there isn't a wrong number for pop as long as it's high enough to supply transports and assist in production. Snathi Prime (my homeworld) currently has a max pop of 64.5 and an actual pop of 32.1. My other planets have lower max pops, averaging about 30 each. I plan to take them all higher when I get more terraforming tech going. It can't go much higher without the Ultra Terraformers, so I think we're all going to
Food is pretty important, since 1 food will let you grow 1 pop. For now, 1 pop = 1 production, so you get a lot of raw production with high population planets. Morale/Approval is a factor as well, since 100% approval gives you a 25% increase in production. Higher population lowers your approval, so there's a balance there. I aim for 100 pop per planet, but now that the Ultra-Terraformer is gone, it'll probably drop to around 60 each. I generally lose
Another thing that I did was a complete uninstallation, wipe of the old folders and reinstallation of GalCiv3. I did that while trying to troubleshoot the stuck game thing. I did the uninstall/reinstall with the 1.2 version and again with the 1.3v2 opt-in. I don't know if that had any effect, but who knows?
@ Avatar137 - Are you on the 1.3.1 beta opt-in? I noticed jerky movements with my ships in 1.3, but not anymore in 1.3.1. I don't know what the difference would be. Your video card is significantly superior to my GTX760. I didn't check my FPS, but didn't think it was an issue because the AI ship movements were smooth. On the 1.3.1 opt-in, everything is smooth.
Since this thread has served its purpose, I'll go ahead and lock it so it can sink into oblivion. Thanks everyone for your replies and help and thanks to the devs for the fixes. :)
Great list, BuckGodot. And +1 karma to you. :) I'll probably come back to this list every now and then for reference.
I agree with you that the min/maxing is a game killer. I did that in GalCiv2 and learned my lesson. It sucks the fun right out of it. For GalCiv3, I'm taking a different approach. I'm playing it more as an RPG rather than a game that I must win. In fact, my last game was a defeat and while it came as a surprise, it was very refreshing to see that the possibility of losing was really there. Seriously, I didn't know it was even possible for me t
