In my current 1.31 game I noticed an improvement in the AI that hasn't been mentioned anywhere. For the first time in a long, long, long time the AI has sent freighters to my planets to establish trade routes. I am really enjoying that extra income. I hope 1.4 will fix a problem that is still happening in my current game. The AI will declare war on me even though they are so far away that I don't know where they are. I think we met when their survey shi

What kind of attack/defense do they have?
Here is a screenshot of a close view of them. Since this is a still picture, it doesn't show the excellent animation they have. I need to update some things here.
OMG !!! So did you build a fleet to blast them yet?
I did not go after the pirates. They weren't bothering me, and I was too cowardly to attack ships that strong. Also, some of the races were doing a somewhat decent job of attacking them. I decided to let them work on the pirates while I took care of other problems. One of the problems
Do you have the Mega Event DLC? If so, sounds like you triggered the "Pirate Outbreak" Mega Event. I had no idea they were THAT nasty though!
I do have it - I have everything. I didn't know about the "Pirate Outbreak", and I don't remember getting a notification about it during the game. I wonder if there is something else going on here. I will be paying more attention from now on.&
Now that the release version of 1.3 is out, I decided to forget the game I had going with the opt-in and start a new game. I had the pirates on my usual setting of Common. They were their usual minor nuisance, so I mostly left them alone. After I built up enough ships with good offense and defense, I went on an extermination spree and eliminated all the pirate ships and bases around me. I also noticed that the AI races were also taking out the pirate ships and some of
This is new game started with the 1.3 Opt-In. I am not using the new governors. If a player goes into debt, the Production Wheel is automatically adjusted to 100% Wealth and the Manufacturing Slider is automatically adjusted to 100% Social. I know that in earlier versions there was no automatic change back to the previous settings after the player was no longer in debt. I thought this was fixed in one of the updates. If so, it is no longer fixed. In
This is a new game started with the 1.3 Opt-In. The only mods that I am using are those that give new races. Sometime before turn 122, ships from three of my neighboring races decided to park themselves next to one of my planets. Here is a screenshot at turn 122. Later, I saw more ships heading towards the planet, so I put three of my ships in the thr
I didn't see this in the notes, but the ship repair rates have been greatly increased. I discovered this when I noticed that my damaged ships did not stay damaged as long as I expected. I then put damaged ships in various locations to determine the repair rate and if it changed with location. Here is what I found: 4 - Hit point repair per turn in space. It is the same if the ship is moving or stationary. 7 - Hit point repair per turn when a shi
They are showing up for me. When I choose Galaxy Type as Spiral, one of possible spiral galaxies will be chosen at random. I have seen all three in this mod and two others that must have come with the game.
It works! This is so much better than the default logo. You have my thanks.
Old-Spider, Is it possible that the 101st race is defective and causing the crash? have you tried with a different 101st race? (aka the core from the faction contest caused my game to crash if used I had to copy and modify it to get it to work.)
My first thought is "no" since it occurs while adding only random races. There is no way of knowing which races are being added at that time. It
I don't want to take credit for creating so many races. I only made 4 of the 166 I have available. These races include: 8 that came with the game 4 that I made as factions 7 that are from mods that I found in various posts in the forums and then downloaded. 147 that are faction files that I found in various posts in the forums and then downloaded. So, I am a prolific downloader of the work of others
GalCiv3 is advertised as handling 100 Races. It does, but it will not handle 101. It crashes instantly when the total races reaches 101. Everyone needs to understand that 100 races means you and 99 opponents. When the number of opponents reaches 100, the total races reaches 101, and the game crashes. I found this in version 1.02 when I was thinking that 100 meant 100 opponents. I had manually added opponents to get to 99 then added one more. The gam

You need change it to dl=1 for the picture to show up in your post.&n
I noticed this when I checked a custom faction I downloaded from somewhere in the forums. I just assumed it was a custom faction that didn't have a homeworld and didn't worry about it. After seeing this post, I checked my current game (1.02) against all custom factions and found that none of them and none of the minors has a homeworld listed. I am the Terrans, and I do have Earth listed as my homeworld. I will also submit a ticket.
I just had an 11.3 MB update that changed GalCiv3.exe to version 1.0.1.1. Does anyone know what was changed? The start screen still shows 1.01
A partially built ship does not cost the full amount. There is a bug in the tool tip display in the shipyard. See my post https://forums.galciv3.com/464928 for details.
I put this in support since it also shows some bugs. If you didn't know the Battle Viewer has been "fixed", check out this post https://forums.galciv3.com/464463 starting at Reply #13. If you don't want to read it, then go to options and remove the check mark for "Trails". The Story I am the Iconian. The Krynn declared w

I reported it here https://forums.galciv3.com/464679 . When I ran the "soak" command the Burran were actually building colony ships. After the pirates destroyed one, they would build another. I ran "soak" many times, and they built multiple colony ships every time. This was in version 0.95.5. I am going to load the save into 0.97.5, then run "soak" and see what happens. UPDATE I l

I have been getting the battle viewer to work the first battle, then going black for the second battle. After using the Control Panel to shut down GC3, restarting GC3 and continuing with more battles, the battle viewer problem repeating exactly the same. Since the battle viewer was included in the Beta, I almost never got more than one battle to work correctly in the battle viewer. After seeing your post, I started GC3, turned off trails and restarted GC3 as required becau
Several posts have been made about buying ships costing the full amount even if the ship has been partialy constructed. I have noticed this and always thought it to be true. While checking it out in a new game started with the Friday afternoon Opt-In (GalCiv3.exe version is 0.97.5), I found out that it isn't true, but it is a tool tip problem. I had a partially constructed colony ship in a shipyard. In the shipyard, the tooltip indicated it would take 1545 credit
After downloading the opt-in, I did a bad thing. I loaded a save game from Beta 6.1 to check things out. It didn't take too long to crash. If you have a 6.1 game that is important to you, do not opt in to 6.2. After that I started a new game. My observations so far Good When zoomed out on the map, whatever is selected has an obvious ring around it
