This problem has been mentioned in other posts. It has been around for a while. I have seen it several times, but never reported it. I now have a save game one turn before it happens. The problem is that when a race gives its assets to me, the colors of the assets are not all updated. Some that aren't updated do get updated later under certain conditions. When the Yor surrendered to another race and gave me all their remaining assets, most of

Thoughts?
If it is possible, I would like the see the pirates build and use constructors. I have seen the pirates build ships that use prototype weapons that require resources under the following conditions: 1. A race
I also noticed that if you upgrade a ship you can only do once. It seems that the game thinks the ship is still upgrading. (says so in the tooltip)
I also have a ticket in for that problem. That problem only occurs if the ship is upgraded in space. An armed ship that is labeled as still upgrading seems normal, but it cannot attack anything. It can defend like a normal ship. Upgrades occur properl

I'm not very good at modding except for some very simple ones. I was looking at files related to the Mercenaries and found one named MercenaryTierDefs.xml in the data\Game directory. As its name indicates, it defines the number of ships you see in each tier when you go to the Bazaar. I made a simple mod called My Mercenary Mod with a Game directory in it and copied the file into the Game directory. I changed the default values for the number in each tier from 12/

This is a new game started with the release version of 1.6 with Mercenaries. I have a custom version of the constructor which is much cheaper to build than the default beginning one and the same for the colony ship. I normally build the cheap constructor, move it back into the shipyard and upgrade it to the cheap colony ship, then launch the colony ship when it is ready. This time, when I chose to upgrade the cheap constructor, I then chose Cancel to see what would happe

The link to a GalCiv3 game is really nice, but I had a problem with the information in it. I looked and looked see which race you were playing, but I couldn't figure it out. I looked again and finally saw that the Yor Singularity was shown first and was the only one with a score, so I'm going to assume that was you. I then noticed that the Yor were listed first on all the graphs, so maybe that is a clue also. I think it would be more obvious if the race you p

Looking forward to it. It's been so long since a stream was done that I hope someone will go in early to make sure everything is working. Also, I think I remember from a stream many, many months ago that the echo that sometimes occurs was found to be caused by Skype running on one or both of the computers, so maybe someone will also make sure it isn't running. Should I brag about being #3?

This is a new game with the latest version of 1.6 with Mercenaries. When one of my ships is finished upgrading, its class includes the word "Upgrading" as shown in this screenshot. It stays that way for as long as I have checked. The worst part of this is that a ship that has "Upgrading" in its class can no long attack anything belonging to a Race I am at war with.&nbs

The AI's and the player's automated survey ships have always ignored defended anomalies. With the addition of Precursor Anomalies, those have been ignored also. The most recent update to the beta 1.6 version with Mercenaries is reported to have fixed the AI so that they will survey defended anomalies. No mention was made about fixing the player's automated survey ships. In the game I am currently playing as the Arceans, the AI survey ships are surveyin

I found a problem with the display of negative resources. In the galaxy map it displays correctly. but in the shipyard it is almost blank. If you look real carefully, you should be able to see a very faint minus sign to the right of the number. My resolution is 1920 x 1080, and my UI size is normal. <img src="https://www.

This is based on games started before the update on Friday, February 12. In one game I have been playing I am the Terrans, and the Snathi (the major race) declared war on me. I didn't know where they were, so I hired the Mercenary scout ship "The H12-Super" to look for them. I found them but was careless and stopped too close a
BTW, Perhaps an obvious point, but I STRONGLY suggest that folks temporarily turn off any mods that they might be running until we know for certain what's been changed in 1.6/Merc. There's gonna be a lot of changes and I strongly suspect some of the mods floating around out there won't be compatible with 1.6/Merc without being upgraded. I mostly say this so we don'

To check the settings for the game while the game is still running, do the following: 1. Use Alt-Tab to get to the desktop. 2. Open your GalCiv3 directory. For Win7 is is located at C:\Users\your name\Documents\My Games\GalCiv3. 3. Locate the Prefs.ini file and open it with your favorite text editor. 4. Search for GalaxySettings. 5. The GalaxySettings section should tell you part of what you want to kno

I tried this when I first learned of it, but I never continued. This is what I know. I believe it is all correct. The file is a regular text file and must have the .txt extension. The commands in it need to be correct, just like they are when typed directly into the console. Each command needs to be on a separate line. The file must be in the directory where the GalCiv3.exe is located. For me it is at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\c

I decided to find out what happened to my missing 4 mass. I went into Diplomacy and checked Treaty Details. I found what I suspected - I had traded Helios Ore for some credits. Helios Ore gives a 5% bonus to the mass capacity of ships. 78 + 5% = 81.9, so my decrease in capacity is a result of a bad trade. The advisor responsible for this has been taken care of.
Did you design a ship with more mass capacity than you actually have at the moment? I have had the game hide ships because of that.
Good question. I had no idea, so I checked. I loaded an earlier save, went to the ship designer and found I could build a medium ship with a total of 82 mass. I loaded my current save, went to the ship designer and found I could build a medium ship with a total o

I am seeing this in my current 1.5 game. A powerful ship I recently designed so I can use it to take over the galaxy is no longer available. I thought it was because I ran out of resources, then I realized I wasn't using any special resources for it. It was just gone. I do have two ships I designed that use Antimatter that show in the shipyard list that I can't build because I am out of Antimatter, so the missing ship is not missing due to a lack of resources.&

This is a new game started with the 1.507 release version and the Precursor Worlds DLC When a race's last remaining planet is a Precursor World, it does not show up properly in the UP Window. I conquered the two normal planets that the race had and left the Precursor World alone while waiting for my culture to flip it. When I checked the UP I noticed that the race didn't show up correctly. When I clicked on the world of the race, no race information s

I see two problems with my scores on the Metaverse. I have 3 games listed, and two of them are ranked. The first problem is that the scores for the two ranked games are 0 and 8. I think that 0 + 8 = 8, but my total score is shown as 7. How does 0 + 8 = 7? The second problem is that the ranked and unranked games with a score of 0 indicate the the Victory Condition is Quit. I didn't quit these games; I was conquered, which is why my planet count is 0.

These are not game-breaking problems. They are just cosmetic, but some of them could cause some confusion. These are all in the current version of GalCiv3. Zone of Control appears in four places in the Ideology Screen (Pragmatic/Vigilant III and Vigilant V and Malevolent/Awe II and Awe III). It should be Zone of Influence. Directory is Galactic Civilizations III\data\English\Text. File is CultureTraitText.xml. <img src="https://www.dropb
