1.3 Official Release and 1.3.1.4 Opt-in Issues

During the Opt-in I noticed that the Control key no longer gave me the Show Path Distance info any more and reported it. I was disappointed to see that it was still an issue. That made me wonder about it. I have since discovered that the input screen/game will no longer recognize my Control, Shift and Alt keys any more. All those keys work in other games/programs as there is no physical issue with my keyboard. It's not a really old one but its not a new one either. It's a Logitech G-19 keyboard running the 8.27 gaming software. I had to change the above keybinding to the Backspace key in order to get it working again. So something has changed in your code that affects certain keyboards running this software. I don't believe there was any automatic update happening with it as I always turn that stuff off so I can update when and if I'm ready. Hope that helps to remedy this.

Thanks. I just discovered my memory was a bit faulty for the version number... :-"   It is 8.57.145. Sorry about that!

After playing the various Opt-in versions and the release version, I have noticed that the ship movement is very jerky and no longer smooth. My system has run the game maxed out without issues (for the most part) since the Alpha but this is some of the shakiest movement I've seen to date. Drivers are up to date with the latest official release versions. Specs as follows:

Maximus VII Hero, i7 4790k @4.4GHz, EVGA GTX970HD 355.82s, 32gb DDR3 2134, 1000W PS, Onboard sound, 32" Bravia XBR, Win7Pro64

Even after a fresh reboot and making sure no other unnecessary processes are running I get this kind of graphic oddity. Current game is on an Insane map, 50 major races, rare minors, tight clusters, common stars, abundant planets, Gifted AI, and the rest at default except only doing a conquest victory.

This started with 1.3 but has continued with the last two opt-ins. About 8 races have been running a negative income for well over a hundred turns. The #1 ranked race is now over 100,000bc in debt! I don't know how a civ can survive, are they like the US here where they like to just print money day after day while pretending the debt isn't going up?

This was in 1.3:

About 90 turns later and on 1.3.1.4 he had gotten his debt to over 100,000 and is still going strong building ships and buildings and waging war on everyone.

Avatar137,

That doesn't seem right :)  Can you submit a ticket ( https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/Tickets/Submit ) with the save game attached so we can take a look?  Thank you.

Sure!

EDIT: Submitted, but I just realized I forgot to zip up my save game and pic... :S   sorry about that!

Edit#2: Just reloaded my game to continue playing and I noticed that part of the screen isn't messed up any more! Very odd...

I have seen the same problem in my current 1.31 game.  In my game, I have changed the UI size from small to normal.  It looks like you have changed the UI size to normal.  Have you?  There are several other areas that still have problems when I am using the normal UI.  The problems don't exist for the same situation when I load the same saved game when I am using the small UI.  I am taking screen shots of the problems in the normal UI and the lack of problems in the small UI to make a post about this.  I don't expect to make the post until sometime Saturday.

Old-Spider, no, I'm using the default small sized UI. I remember trying the other sizes before when they were first made to work and did notice anomalies like you mentioned, but found that with my main 32" monitor being only 1.3 arms's length from my face I don't need anything larger and prefer more space view.
