I almost never come out ahead moving shipyards. With the time it takes to move them, and the lost production in the meantime, it's better off just producing a bunch of shipyards. Less lossy. I will have a few mega shipyards putting out the big guys, but a bunch of smaller shipyards can just run treasure hunters, which you can combine into mercenaries. Plus if you've got the Malevolent trait, those ship construction inefficiencies get multi

On behalf of modders, I'd like to see the number of branches on the ideology tree moddable, so that modders can choose 1-6 different branches. However, I like what Stardock already did, with good-neutral-evil. I'd love to see mercenaries which give +5 benevolent/pragmatic points per combat. Not just benevolent. I've got Steam Achievements to achieve, and this is the way to do it.

So, my second ideology event I get is the one where you get the more powerful Elemental building, +35bc/turn if you build it. And I haven't built my central bank yet. I find the right planet with a +3 wealth tile and finish the elemental. Since I'm going to get this cash influx, I go out and buy the Mercenary transport which lets you invade worlds pre-War age. I hurry up and invade a nearby Minor, before they orbit any ships. Haven't finished the central bank ye

I frequently get ideology events which buff targeting. Might as well be comparing 100% vs. 100%. I have found the fleet support modules for missiles to be particularly good. And I have found kinetics to be even more resource-heavy than missiles. In the end, my resources and my opponents' defenses tend to decide it. I just adapt my tactics to that.
Modding One area that Stardock is actively hiring for are C# developers. Doesn't even have to be full-time. It's more like we will pay for various tools that we can share with the community. We are going to be releasing a Flavor Text Editor shortly as well as a Mega Event editor. It may come as a shock but GalCiv III has supported full-blown quests (as in, extremely sophisticated quests a
I find it ludicrous that the universe, or even the galaxy is as small as ludicrous.
I think of it this way: - There are WAY more dead planets out there than are on the Galciv map. Your Galciv map just included the "interesting" dead planets, whatever that means. - Habitable planets are exceedingly rare. Okay, maybe there are trillions, quadrillions of planets. But only 85 are habitable. I'm good with t
Well this is my opinion resources should have been in the games all along. If you could have unlimited building then it requires no thought. Now you need to think where you need your resources the most, but nobody seems to like change go figure when they improve it.
Yeah, kinda like that. Whenever the devs come up with some new, mega-ship that can blow everything up, that's a sugar-coated pill. Everybody loves it. But you take something away a

I like the design of it, actually. 3 weapons trees and 3 armor trees, each use potentially different resources. You CAN get weapons without resources, but they kind of suck. Makes sense to me. Resources don't work unless you have a shortage of some, and it's got to hurt. The variegated resources makes for some good strategic depth. I just don't think the resource demands are very balanced.

Banned for cheating on Katniss' husband, Pita. They're married. Only Katniss is allowed to love Pita, how could you? First the Hunger Games, and now this? BANNED!
