The snathi are special but not in a way that would be directly affected by the mods option. :) Do you have any mods installed?

If you've deleted a Snathi ship style and the game does not load, I would suggest re-installing the Snathi DLC

I think what has happened is that there may have been a colony ship station at a planet and when the planet flipped, the colony ship was ejected. We'll look into it.

That tech increases the bonuses that Precursor Relics give. So if you have a research relic, it would increase the amount of research that relic generates.

How are you deleting the factions? Are you using the in-game "delete" button or removing the files from the "my games" directory? I am puzzled about the zip file though. That shouldn't be something that the game knows about. Are you using a cloud or automatic backup service?
Yes there is something funky with the Yor Transport (other transport design templates I tried just now seem to be fine). We're looking into it.
