Blank Map Screen issue

Installed the game from Steam.

When I start a map or use map editor...all I get is a blank screen and the side menu.

I have sounds and I know there are things there...but instead of planets and stars...and a map...there is just nothing.

I have nvidia geforce 9600 card and utilize directx10.

Is it my graphics...corrupt files or what?

I don't think it would be graphics though...because I can run games like from the total war franchise very well or at least decent...I don't think galciv 3 is that graphic intense is it?
