The game is totally stable for me. It hasn't crashed in at least 60 days. I just don't understand the stability issue for single player. I don't do multi-player so I can't say. Obviously, there are a lot of crappy systems out there that need to be updated or sent to be repaired by someone that knows what they are doing. As it is Stardock is jumping through hoops to minimize requirements and that has diminished the game for those who do have decent systems. Part
No point in arguing it the pirates blow. They are going to get better in later additions to the game.
One possibility is to add free tactical speed to the fighters and escorts that would make them very hard to hit (they must be made harder to hit). I get tired of nerfing things. The Weapons in general and kinetic in particular, are already under powered imo. I am in full agreement that the fighters and escorts should be able to take out an occasional capital ship, with powerful missiles and beams that can overcome their HP with numerical superiority and survivability against capital s
I like to think of the turns as a month and even that doesn't always work. I have wondered if it would be possible to mod the game clock to reflect the time in months vs days. This is a small issue that is not keeping me awake at night but it is an issue of immersion nonetheless. I tend to ignore the clock anyway and if I could turn it off I would. What is it good for?
What level are you playing? On the higher levels the AI gets many cheats of various kinds. On normal they are supposed to be playing by the rules. I have not seen anything suspicious that can't be explained by my suspicious nature. :)
All the vanilla faction foregrounds aren't images, but bk2 movie files. You can use Bink free version to save a movie frame if you want, but it will likely need a bit of editing as the free version doesn't do a perfect job of the transparency.
Yes the good ones are movies but you can use a PNG if you put it on a 1920X1080 transparent background. I have tried to adapt the portrait but it doesn
The credits at the end of game just includes your name (maybe it's your user name, I can't recall), not your star name. The star names can be viewed in the xml files and they used to be listed in the founders locker. Assuming it was not something like Hitler's Star or My F---ing Star it should be there.
I thought the upgraded carriers carried 2 per module of the latest fighter version, while the drone fighter carriers only carried the unimproved drone fighters. I think they nerfed carriers too much and I plan on modding them to carry 20 of the latest and greatest fighters and I am going to deny them to the AI. :) I am kidding, I'll let the AI have them but I will not teach them to build them.
If you use a 4X constructor to build 4 star bases you will get 12 build points, (if my mind is working right tonight :) )
Bump, surely someone
There is a go to command that allows you to send a ship to any of the waypoints when the ship is selected. There is no keyboard shortcut that I know of.
Can anyone direct me to a foreground image of the Terran officer that speaks to the Thalian in the game intro? There is a portrait image provided in the game but no foreground. I don't know the guys name so I can't figure out how to search for it.
Wish I could unlook at sexy Picard :)
I love your humanoid styles. I am not a big fan of organic ships but you do a good job of not going overboard on most of them. I will definitely be grabbing these when they are available. What is the faction related to the TR showcase. Some of those ships are breathtaking.
Wow I don't think I'd be patting myself on the back over the way it plays. Maybe sells after being promoted and the 3rd of a series but this game has no where near the depth or refinement of the previous rendition. From what I can see it also isn't satisfying a fair number of the users on metacritic either. I don't want to be too one sided but nobody has been able to trust "game" review outfits for years and so getting a high awar
Culture improvements on your planets, (especially border planets) and culture relics, seem to be more powerful than vanilla culture star bases. Culture works differently in GCIII vs GCII. Culture starbases were super strong in GCII, not as much in GCIII. It seems to be more of an overall influence effect I wouldn't recommend building them next to target planets in their ZOI. That will cost you serious diplomacy
A couple of questions: Every time they update the game, I have to re-do any mods I am using. Is this an unavoidable thing that will always be necessary? I have been modding the individual files and pasting them in the mod game folder. Can I copy the entire game folder to mods and edit them without opening the steam files? I have tried this and it doesn't seem to work but I might be doing something wrong. I don't want to waste time trying to make it work if the files mu
Well I am glad to see it will be revised and I hope that will include a proportional increase in resources and relics as well. I like playing on a thinned out map that doesn't look like a pizza when you zoom out but 1.02 seems to have broken the maps one way or another for all of us.
That was fun. 7 colonies 2 star bases 2 ship yards 6 techs 1 sensor ship 1 surveyor 1 colony ship 1 scout power 46 I was ahead of the other factions but I actually felt like they were swarming all over me. I am not accustomed to playing maps that small
My God, It's full of stars! Well, not full of, but still a lot. :)
I am playing an immense map with loose clusters, occasional stars. common planets and occasional habitable. I am not having a problem with habitable planets. At about 100 turns I have about 20 colonies. I expect I will wind up with about 30 and that is okay for occasional habitable The problem I have is there are almost no relics. I have them on abundant, which was admittedly too many in 1.01 but they are extremely
"If you'd like a refund, I'm happy to provide it as long as you agree to leave and never come back and never purchase anything ever again from us." The guy paid 60 bucks for the game. It gives him the right to gripe. As for this being your house, how about you try to remember who paid for the house. Yeah, paying customers paid for your house. The guy has some valid concerns. Instead of attacking him for i
Yes, the AI has trouble with pirates because they seem to ignore them, to a great extent. They also send their surveyors into graveyards until the hp are worn down and their ship is toasted. With pirates on default, most AI don't have a surveyor by T50. I haven't checked scouts but it is probably the same. I also think that the AI has a problem with tight clusters and tends to colonize the star group they are in and then lose interest, as if they think the galaxy is finished.&
