I don't have a problem either way. It is a matter of reality vs game play. If we are sending 3 billion souls to colonize a planet, we will know what they are going to find when they arrive. Considering whqat we know now, imagine what we will know when we attain warp drive. We will know everything there is to know about our destination Perhaps this realism does not appeal to some due to making the game "easier". Maybe this could be an optional feature, similar to rare plane

I have played several games at the highest difficulty allowed and I am wiping out the AI every time. [e digicons]:grin:[/e] But seriously... In my last game, Mars colony had a zero population throughout the game. I am 99.9 percent certain that the original colony ship had a full compliment and future efforts to send in more population were not successful. May never happen again, but it happened this time, and could not be corrected in-game. Planetary population
I agree it is not fun and I loved ship design in GC2. Long way to go
I was in the early Gal II beta. It was far more primitive that this alpha. As I recall the first time I played all you could do was move around the map and colonize. There was no AI at all that I recall.
