It probably shouldn't. These designs go back to the bug (now fixed) where you could build a ship with old techs after you had shrinking tech and they would be available to build when you started a new game. I have been deleting those designs if they are not soon to be available. That is is the only way I know to deal with it. I haven't considered it a major bug and I doubt it will be addressed anytime soon.

The last patch seems to have broken your mod. They disappeared, and I have had no success reinstalling them. All the races that are in factions are working. I haven't heard whether anyone else has lost them. I am pretty sure it is not just me I have other mods that stopped working and I was able to fix them. BTW, great work and I hope I can get them back.

Yep the factions I lost were the Mass Effects factions that went to mods, and the Dr Whomiverse mod. I tried to reinstall and no luck. This did seem like a weird patch. I gathered from the stream today that both Brad and Paul are working on the game and it sounded like they may each be doing things without telling each other. Very odd that the faction mods no longer work. I had some difficulty getting my own to work again. I had to edit the steam game files and copy and paste

I thought it was good but it was AI you know, and there is just so much you can do. The AI will never make the complex decisions that we do, no matter how much you fiddle with them and a lot of what you do has an unintended consequences.

Yeah, the star bases needed that. I never built them on turn one but I usually had a 24 range boat by turn 10-12 and I still will.

LOL, the sensor boat haters are happy campers tonight I'll bet. The new navigational sensor has a range of 1. I wonder how Brad feels about that since he had come out in favor of the sensor boats on several occasions. There seems to be multiple camps within the SD devs, just like there are here. No matter to me, I have already modded them back up to where they were.

The game is easy on normal and that is fine by me. I only play on normal because as dumb as the AI may be, it is basically playing by the rules. I have no interest in attempting to beat an AI that is getting huge cheats and bonuses. I have played on higher levels and won but it was work and not fun. I was reminded today by Mother Microsoft that the Windows 10 upgrade is imminent. I am fairly confident that it will not impact GCIII, but I would like to hear some confirmation on that. I am also running Stardock's Fences and Start8. I suppose Start8 will be history with the upgrade but will Fences need a patch or anything?

As you know the template is saved without weapons or any other cost related improvement. When you save a ship that you have outfitted all that is removed. You will have to choose the template and replace all of the weapons and improvements. When you are done you save the ship with the template choice unchecked. The Template and any ships you design carry over to in any future games, when you play that faction
