i tried updating a faction and it uploaded with no problem. It is just ship designs. Is there another way to check the connection?

This may be a Steam problem but since Steam is so hard to deal with, I thought I would throw it out here first. I can no longer upload ship designs to the workshop. The upload starts and then I get a message that the upload failed. When I go to the workshop it has left a blank in my workshop files that is only visible to me. Faction uploads still work fine. I have tried everything I can think of to fix it. Just thought I would see if anyone else has has a similar problem or an

Governors: War, Social, Research, Economy, Influence, Growth, and Balanced. You build improvements, the governor manages those improvements in the most optimal way possible. Probably don't need the growth and Influence governor. Just set to Social, and queue the right project when the building queue is finished. The main thing is, the govs only run production. They don't build anything.
Solution (duh): play other humans! I'm impressed with all the AI tweaking, game setting maniputlation, etc.... But, in the end, why waste so much time tweaking AI to act humanish? Who cares if the AI are better than their default setttings? As a data miner who is anxious to get his hands on real-time game data, I naturally assume... they will NEVER be better than the best human opponents!
I got the terraform 5 hexs anomaly and it did not give 5 at all planets. About half it seemed. This is not a gripe, it works sufficiently imo. Just an FYI. It probably has something to do with max hexes on certain planets. It was the smaller planets that did not get 5.

Someone explain this to me in simple terms. What I am seeing is if you grow massive population and build all factories, you can convert the production to anything by using the slider and the projects. If this is correct, I guess I get it but the numbers are hard to comprehend...wow just wow. I don't understand how population gives you multipliers like that.

For debug you need to use a cheat shortcut ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Galactic Civilizations III\GalCiv3.exe" cheat) For mods you select use mods in game options. After you select you will have to restart the game hth

Yeah, I spam them as well, and remember, I am playing with no pirates. I suppose they could be just avoiding them since I seldom play over 200 turns, but I have gotten a lot of lost ships and I have never been asked about pirates. If anyone has ever confronted pirates in a no pirates game, then I am wrong in my assumption.

I like your idea, but I have to say that your Jupiter idea is not convincing. If you want to create worlds for Methane breathers, you should be thinking of worlds like the moon Titan and similar rocky planets that will surely exist around other stars. Jupiter and other Gas Giants do not have a surface per sec. Any life that might exist on a Gas Giant would have to live within the planets stratosphere. If you are in

I have been playing a game with no pirates and my surveyors on auto. I don't think they are avoiding the pirate guards. I have been getting the treasure troves without any pirate battles and I am pretty sure that treasure troves would be guarded. I have no idea how they do it but in a no pirate game, auto-survey does not confront pirates. If you are playing with pirates auto survey will trigger pirates.
They sometimes do - I've had a few automated survey ships suddenly telling me they need to fight someone to look at the anomaly. I think the pirate encounters are just really rare, though tbh I've not bothered surveying manually very much, and the only time I did try I got a pirate encounter.
Hmm, I obviously need to play more. I assumed when I started getting lost ships without a pirate battle they had figured a

Yes, they are there, but they do not attack when your surveyor is on auto-survey. I'm not sure how that works, but it does. :)

I am not sure that the devs will address this at this time but your best chance would be to edit your OP to move it to the support forum. The devs do not monitor the entire board.

I have d/l and plan to install tomorrow. One question, I am not a fan of the pirates as they are at this time and I usually play with rare or no pirates. Will the anomalies still spawn pirates if I have chosen no pirates? No problem if they do, but it will be good to know if they are always going to be there. :)

I love this topic. I completely understand the irritation that incursions cause and of course the game can be designed to limit this if they choose to do so. There are plenty of games that stop you at borders. Personally, I stand on the no borders side. I really liked Erischild's ocean analogy. Think of land masses as space colonies. Areas of influence or hegemony might extend far into the ocean that surrounds

I installed it and it seems to be working fine. If you have tested this how far into the game were you before you could practically make use of the ships. I would guess that it is a ship I could employ at maybe T100 or so. It is so expensive (which it should be), so massive, and so slow. If you intend to use it to upgrade all of your star bases, I think you would need at least 2-3 of them with some speed to get around your ZOC. You will need a decent positive income flow, a lot of shr

I agree with the OP. The time factor is not good. A game that goes for 800 turns should span way more than 15 years. There should also be longevity techs for factions like the humans who have shorter life spans.

The ships are outstanding Deathwynd. Just so I know that I understand how it works... The various ships are the same ship designed for different factions. You spend the big bucks to build one of the ships and park it at a star base. You build all the improvements available and move the ship to another star base and repeat. When you are done with all star base improvements, you leave it parked until you need it again or to stop the high maintenance if you are done with building

Hi Gauntlet, With the addition of your ship sets, the list of available styles has reached the bottom of visible page and will not scroll. There are 3-4 ship styles that can't be viewed. Is there a way you could add scroll to the options screen. I know that the trait screen will scroll when trait mods are added. I'm not sure if that is done by the modder or just natural for that page. BTW everything works fine and I have no serious performance issues. My setup is

I remember in SMAC they had what they referred to as a submissive pact. The faction in question would admit defeat but would continue as a faction that did not participate in wars involving your faction. They would usually get wiped out by another faction as some point and if you totally tanked they could break the pact. Worked well with SMAC. Not sure it would work with as many factions as there are in GCIII.

A little glitch: When you sign on with the cheat exe, the debug console will not work with the mod. The console comes up but the unlock command does not work and it crashes the game. This is not a big deal since you can unselect use mods and the console will work for any purpose that I use it for (ship design). I only mention it as an FYI.
Edit: Also, if you like the look of weapons or other modules on your ship you can add the models to the template. Weapons are under the "small" category and everything else is under the "universal" category in the design tab.
I get what you are saying and you are correct but it would still be nice to have our cake and eat it too. BTW, I am not seeing any "weapons" parts in game stock, and the weapons parts f
