Hard to tell with the info supplied. It could just be early military. Research UT and check out their status on the trade screen.

It seems to me that the devs have screwed around with culture to the point that flipping planets has become rare and unusual vs the domino collapse that it was in earlier versions and in GCII. There is just no strategy to flip planets. You can still win a culture victory by surrounding the opponent with your influence but it takes a long time and lacks the appeal of flipping planets imo. I have thought about modding this but I have limited skills and I have more or less abando
These things are hard to deal with, not impossible to deal with. Maybe they need to be tweaked. I don't know because I generally don't play with then. I have always figured they are for the players that want the intense challenge and don't mind losing games occasionally. The game experience I look for is different. My first strategy games were checkers and chess where the emphasis is on planning and strategy and the rules don't change in the middle of the game.</
You can edit an existing faction by copying it and creating a custom faction that is identical to the original. You can then edit that faction any way you wish.
I have been using Deathwynd's Asteroid Foundry ship. They are expensive, so I just build a couple with high speed and route them around my starbases. It's not perfect by any means but it beats the "request constructor" method, and they really look neat. :)
I played a little while last night with SMCBE and they have that integrated with Steam. You just tick off the mods you want to use and fire up the game.
You can scroll if you close the drop down and hover your mouse over the ship styles and use your mouse wheel. Not the best solution but better than not seeing them at all
Has anybody else had similar issues in that the parts list doesn't actually place the described part in the Ship Designer?
Yes, I have had that problem and to be frank my results are piss poor with that situation. I have abandoned designs when that happens or just try to find another part. There is also an issue of a part being dark in the designer. You can click on the dark space and highlight the part but if you tr
Never is a long time but I am pretty sure I have heard Paul say there are no plans for DX12 to be incorporated.
However can you please add some negative traits
Before 1.2 you could scroll down and apply as many negatives or positives you wanted from the old traits. With 1.2 there is a problem with loading saves if you use the old traits and they don't balance out to 5 trait points. I am not sure what causes that or if it can be fixed but if it can be fixed it would be great. :)
Okay, got it. I figured they would be a choice, but random is okay.
I noticed that they had increased the research cost of some techs and I assumed they thought that slowing the human player from grabbing the larger ships early would help the game. I haven't yet seen the long term effect on the AI but if it is as it appears, you have to wonder if they do any play testing. Maybe they should enlist some of the better players, (not me, by any means), to try out some of theses things before putting them in. If this is as you have described, it seems t
Downloaded your mod but they are not showing up in the game???
Found the problem - my mod includes changes to the UI text files (changing 'weeks' to 'months'). It appears that the non-presence of the register entry on 1.2 caused it to not fire the pop-up. Now registered [e digicons]:)[/e]
Just change the UI text to month and months and that's it? Did you leave the mod in after you registered? I don't want problems, but I would like to change to month
I get the same thing when I verify but it is 7 files instead of 8. It has been doing this for at least 3 months and I have noticed no problems. I read somewhere on Steam that some files will always not verify due to the files being involved with configuration. Hey I am just the messenger. :)
So I'm an elite founder (won it in a stream) and don't see either the map pack DLC or this DLC under my GalCiv properties in Steam.
You can't take a joke? I keed, I keed, :)
- I don't like useless objects (as you can see above ) so give us the possibility to do something with class 0 planets (mine them, make them habitable with a lot of work, make it possible to explore them to find treasures of all kind, whatever)
I really like this idea. It would be great to have a special survey ship to explore uninhabitable in your ZOC. The might find nothing, something good or get destroyed for t
I can't think of anything to add to these great suggestions at this point. I will say that the missing ability to scroll through the shipyards has been mentioned a couple of times in the dev streams and Paul always says "I think you can already do that" :)
It is good to be a founder, and elite.
Thanks DW I suspected it was some dumb thing I was missing. I suppose it was turned off when the game was updated. I don't recall ever seeing this selection but I must have turned it on some time in the past. Oh well, thanks again. Things like this drive me nuts until I figure it out (or somebody else figures it out for me :) )
Since 1.2 I no longer see other faction ship design parts and weapons parts in the ship designer. Before I submit a ticket on it I thought I would throw it out here and see if anyone has has the problem and fixed it
If you can have pirates without a home world you should be able to do something similar with the Quarians but with the ability to colonize I suppose. If you don't want them to colonize, it would just be cloning the pirates and making them more sociable. I don't have a clue how to do it or if it can be done at present but if they expand on the pirates and make them interactive in the future it might become easier to do.
I am using it and I like it because it is more accurate to actual star types. There ain't no purple stars. :) Now if you will throw in a few quasar, pulsars and brown dwarfs, we'll be all set. :)
It has nothing to do with ships you have designed for yourself. There was a problem with the steam workshop where uploaded ships showing up with tiny thumbnails on the workshop. 1.2 added a feature where you can adjust the size and attitude of the thumbnail. before you upload. This doesn't sound like what you need if your ships are showing up tiny in your shipyard when you build them. I am not sure what might cause that. It sounds like some kind of bug IYAM.
This is fixed in 1.2 You can adjust the image before uploading Or maybe not I misunderstood your question and jumped the gun with my answer. Sorry
