Very cool, I like the images and that there are new core abilities for them. The only one that stands out as death though is Isolation for the Tlec. Getting cheaper starbase modules is not even close to making up for being unable to colonize new planets. A single planet race will lose every time to any other race out there. A single planet just can't compete with an empire. Even on a tiny, rare hab map you'd be at a severe penalty.

I'm not arguing that your influence should be the hard border, though I might prefer that, I'm arguing for a seperate political boundary that does prevent military ships (a troop transport or anything with a gun) from entering my political boundary without war or open borders between me and them. I reiterate, war seems like a good requirement. To be clear; I was thinking only war, no other circumstances except for open borders, obviously. Ever play BotF? The borders there were impermeable without an open borders treaty or war. It made tons of sense, great game for its time.

Except that Yor can overproduce. Even if the AI isn't doing it intentionally it still takes advantage of any excess pop it does make by accident.

I meant I doubt you'll ever have freedom of fire without war. They will be able to teach the AI to avoid borders unless necessary.

If you aren't synthetic you can't, he builds pop faster than you can, by thousands of total percentage. The only potential method would be the Prolific trait coupled with the newly nerfed Abundant ideology trait. And that still doesn't hold a candle to Yor production.

1) That's the premise of the Terrans coming back to the Universe... so check for Stardock? If/when the Dreadlords are reused they'll have their own expansion/DLC. 2) I like this idea but anything requiring unity of the races to deal with is going to end badly for everyone unless you're playing in the snuggles and rainbows galaxy.
