Well, I upgraded to more RAM and still got crashes. So it might be something else. I'm sending tickets as it crashes...
Thank you for this, and sorry for your issues. We will get those crashes through support and make sure they get addressed.
Please fix a stuttering ships movement on the long game (300 turn and more).
The infamous jitterbug. Yes we will fix it in this patch.
–RELEASED 05/21/2015– The first post-launch patch for Galactic Civilizations III is live, bringing custom faction support to multiplayer, adding several Steam achievements, and fixing high-priority bugs. The upcoming 1.1 patch, due out in the coming weeks, will add Steam Workshop support among other things. <span id="docs-internal-guid-047bbdca-
We have a fix for that, I told them not to include it at the last minute since it is just cosmetic. It will be included in the fix post release patch.
–RELEASED 05/14/2015– Happy Galactic Civilizations III day, everyone! Release has arrived, and we’ve pushed the buttons to launch the 1.0 version of the game directly into your Steam client. Thanks to all of our beta testers, Early Access players, Founders, and everyone else who helped us make the best Galactic Civilizations III we could. Of course, this
Shoot, re-verify your steam files and you will get set back to the old way (and im sure without a visible UI). I'm going to support to pull your info so I can look at your system config. I will let you know what I find.
Woohoo. Thanks for the kudos, but it really belongs to the developers that were in all weekend getting this working and the great QA staff we have here helping them identify problems.
Try the following: 1. Disable cloud saves: http://screencast.com/t/lSyZWnwMTgiI 2. Rename your "..\Documents\My Games\GalCiv3" directory to GakCiv3.old 3. Restart the game and see if you have the issue.
Try deleting S:\Steam\steamapps\common\Galactic Civilizations III\Screens\Screens.bin
We updated the opt-in tonight with MP fixes as well as some limits. Our most troublesome issues are in mods, custom factions and pirates. So we disabled those in MP. Please test and let us know if MP works for you now. We want to make sure this works, and then we will focus on adding the additional features back in.
(spoiler: disable trails in game options)
That isn't a visual bug, just a large orange nebula in the background map that is making it look like that (if you spin the camera around you will see the nebulas edges). It is really big and really orange so I understand your comment, but it is working as designed.
I fixed that for the opt-in of Beta 6 patch 2 ( https://forums.galciv3.com/464667 ). I just retested and verified it works for me.
You are right. It will be fixed in the next patch, thanks.
You are getting this error in your debug.err: OpenDirectory FAILED for directory: S:\Steam\steamapps\common\Galactic Civilizations III\Screens\Schema Could you check and make sure that directory exists, that you have permissions to write to it and you aren't out of space on that drive. If those are all good could you please verify your steam install.
Awesome, thanks everyone.
We have been unable to reproduce the issue with engine trails turned off. One thing you can do, if you are running into the issue where your video driver dies starting a battle (causing the entire game to go black) is disable engine trails. http://screencast.com/t/IIs0RUayMea9 If this issue has been effecting you, please let us know if this resolves it for you.
Great save, thank you. It definitly reproduces here as well.
The information is very appreciated, we are all beating on it here at Stardock too. Stay tuned.
I used the latest opt-in build to test and verify that it works.
http://screencast.com/t/Ffo55C7D9 Could you try disabling Gel UI to see if that resolves the issue for you. To be able to toggle that option you will need to have your performance presets set to "Custom".
Tested and verified that it is working here.

I've implemented your fixes for Discovery Sphere, Hyperion Matrix and the Universal Soil Adaptor. I let Paul know about the Antimatter Containment so he can figure otu what he wants to do with this. Getting bug reports WITH fixes is awesome. Thank you so much!
