The hardest part about fixing a bug is figuring out what specifically is broken. After that the fix is typically easy (outside of architecture issues which are the opposite). We figured that out for the black screen issue, its a problem rendering engine trails in two scenes. Be that in the main map and battle viewer or the main map and the old invasion scene (that transport picture is an actual 3d model, so it has engine trails hooked up to it even if the ship isn't moving). We have fixes coming in for that in tomorrows optin.
Working as designed, we didnt want it popping up all the time when you were moving ships around.
This will be fixed in the next patch, thanks.
It will be fixed int he next patch, thanks!
Glad you like it. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a good sound that feels big and positive enough to make your selection feel real, and doesn't annoy you when you hear it 100 times.
This isn't a support issue. That said I do agree that extreme world unlocking shouldn't be a specialization.
There is a wide variety of materials, colors, specular and reflection settings. Some may appear a little dark, some a little to bright. We want to correct those if they are outside of a tolerable range, but I feel like this is within those ranges.
Im not seeing this with Beta 6 patch 2, is anyone else?
You are correct. It will be fixed in the next patch.
Greats, thanks for following up.
We dramatically changed this for patch 2, so it may not have been working before. But it definitly is now.
It's by design. Techs aren't intended to be functional in all conditions. You may unlock the ability to colonize tier 2 worlds even though their are none around. You may unlock an improvement you never build.
The fix will be int he next patch. Thanks.
Thanks, this will be fixed in the next patch.
Fixed, thanks! It will be int he next patch.
I have the steps for it Raynman.
We tend to use gold to mean economy. We aren't attempting to carryover the color of the 3d asset, so much as use the color to indicate that its a money thing (blue is the research color, orange is the manufacturing color). So this is working as designed (if we were to change anything i would probably switch the color of the 3d asset to more yellowish).
To answer the question about helping the AI out with the economy, YES! Brad has some where the AI does a lot more consideration on what economic sliders should be, and is willing to go outside the normal preferences if it needs to. For example if it really needs to feed its military, even if that means running at a deficit for a while. We are also working on a fix today for the AI doing a better job building planetary improvements. The black screen/freeze during
–RELEASED 05/11/2015– Galactic Civilizations III Beta 6.2 is now available. This patch makes enormous improvements to the AI and fixes the vast majority of the remaining crash reports we've been seeing. Since Friday, over 100 engineering hours have been put into finding and fixing the "black screen of doom" bug that was responsible for the bulk of the crashes players have experienced. Multiplayer is al
