If anyone has this problem I would love to get a hold of the bad copy of your galciv directory or the bad ship design so we can get it fixed for real (we appreciate that renaming the directory solves your issue, but we'd like to fix it so you don't have to do that). Feel free to PM with the files if you have them and I will have the devs check it out.

I still see this ticket. Looks like its from slow between turn time. We are working to improve those times, Brad is doing some really cool stuff.
I tested this and it seems to be working for me. Nimrod you mention that you are using a mod. With 1.01 (to keep obsoletion from effecting ship awards) we switched all the things that grant free ships to granting special versions of these free ships. If your mod replaces the ShipBlueprintDefs.xml or ShipClassDefs.xml and doesn't bring these definitions over then it wouldn't work. If that isn't it I would love to see a save with this issue.
I would love to get this fixed for you. Please contact our support ( https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/Tickets/Submit ) so that we can get your information and figure out what is going wrong. I suspect you have some old data in your ..\Documents\My Games\GalCiv3\ directory that is causing problems. You may want to rename that directory to GalCiv3.old and see if it resolves the issue for you. If it d

That limited memory worries me too. 4Gb is our minimum and the fact that it is shared by your OS, GalCiv3 and your video card will make rough. You will definitely be limited to the smaller map sizes, I don't know if it will be a great gaming experience for you.
Glad to hear it is working for you guys. Thanks for the report!
Retuobak, Sorry you are having problems with GalCiv3. Try deleting your: ../Galactic Civilizations III/screens/atlas/atlas.dxatlas file and restart the game. Please let me know if that resolves your issue.
dionisus1123, thank you so much for posting the steps that fixed it for you. We are checking it out here at Stardock to see if there is something we can do to keep other users form running into this problem.
That's totally it, thanks guys. We have it all reproduced here and we will get it fixed.
If this is the issue I think it is, it should only occur on invaded planets. Basically I dont think the memory for "has already built this improvement" is being transfered over then the planet switches owners. We are checkign it out now. That does mean that you should never see that issue on planets oyu colonize. Of if you conquer a planet that doesnt already have one of the improvements.
It is possible there is another app on your computer that is doing something during those times. Outside of that do you notice these stutters when its autosaving? And what map size are you playing at?
We are working with Valve on this. This isn't supposed to be the behavior for a game with cloud saves disabled (we disabled cloud saves because we were seeing issues like this). They are helping us figure out what is going on. I'll update when we know more.
We have a fix here that we are testing. Initially I was going to hold it for 1.02, but after considering (and reading the feedback from everyone) I'm going to update the 1.01 update to include the fix.
They do work correctly for me (and I suspect 00zim00 is correct on the cause).
No, I'm not able to reproduce it. They seem limited to 1 per colony for me on both invaded and colonized planets. If you have a save I'd love to check it out.
We have a fix for this. It didn't make it in for 1.01. You are exactly correctly that the factions power is overflowing the range that is available and bottoming out. It will be fixed in 1.02.
Is this a planet you conquered?
[quote who="Nimrod13" reply="78" id="3552915"] Ok, i tested the new patch and game crashes when i want to leave a running game to main menu... i tried to go back to 1.0 but the problem remains... on weekend i didnt had this problem no matter how often i quit a running game. the other problem i have discovered today is when you reach traits the free ships you get dont appear. not the three constructors or the fully loaded colonyship nor the frigate... your points just vanish and you
This is fixed and the optin has been updated. Please let us know if you still see the issue.
If you started the game on 1.0 then you will still see the old broken value. You have to start a new game with 1.01 to get the fixed information for the Prepardness Center.

Yes. In the tutorial and campaign with the optin the game starts with the AI playing your race. We have a fix for that and are in the process of getting the opt-in updated with that fix.
