The events could potentially improve if they make these events have more noticeable impacts but also have a bit more thought put into them. Also I believe that non of these events should be carved in stone like that space rip that slows everybody down for the rest of the game.

Yes, I don't care what goes on GOG, as long as GC III does not lose money and is making some profit off of this dealership. If the business loses money for making this decision, I would say hell no. Oh wait, didn't frogboy said that he wants 20 million dollars for this to work? I am sorry but looks like it is a hell no then.
Espionage definitely needs some work, However finding information on a empire just seems like a necessity especially in the new multiplayer games. However making the espionage game fun and engaging for a game so focused on the big picture that is difficult to impossible, I would be glad to see what suggestions pop up
[quote who="Seilore" reply="11" id="3412228"] It would be nice to add more complexity to this but how with out stretching out the game horribly... *Add multiple turns to invasion(by doing this makes it harder to conquer a planet but, easier to defend this to me just stretches it out with no real advantage.) *Add many ground units that you can deploy and battle (nice but stretches out too badly, look at the total war series if you fight every battle it takes forever
Actually not a bad idea, maybe ship husk can be used to collect $$$ and ultimately give bonuses to those who collect them. The survey wonder would actually be more useful in GC III then GC II and I will revive this topic to get a little more focus. here, want more about this idea, take a look for it yourself https://forums.galciv3.com/449787/page/1/#3413900
This topic is worth reading, I assure you that other post are willing to solve this issue. For the 4th time, I can fix this exact same problem on 4 other threads by one simple solution Space nebula like you said is genius, maybe throw in animated plasma storms showing up on random hexes like space weather, some 1 tile moving animated meteors that always travel in a straight line Perhaps space pollution as a secondary idea, like have some a
[quote who="DivineWrath" reply="9" id="3413869"] Quoting michaelwhittaker, reply 8Haven't played Starcraft 2, but a friend told me the other day that it was not a stradegy game, but that u r only one person instead of playing an empire. I will probably try it eventually. Right now Distant worlds is on the list. I have played sins of a solar empire, Panzer general, Civilization, 1603, Warriors of rome, and Masters of Orion 1 and 2, and Final factasy tactics. There r a couple I
Deleting a building would work like this... if the building takes 7 tiles, then it will take out that single building and you would have to reseed the hexagons and grow up your city all over again, so please be sure you are happy with your development plans. Also level 10 buildings cannot be upgraded again, so that is your limitation of how high the city can grow. This means that if you have a level 10 one tile building, then it cannot be merged with a level 9 or lower... Some wonders
Besides this model is more simplistic then the superior Sim city model, it would grow per turn based on social production. and all buildings will tally income, productivity and population growth. You would eventually run out of room and pretty much capitalize on what locations you placed your buildings without worrying about every city in your empire. Also a panel to help you zoom into planets would be nice. BTW a nice algorithm would do nicely to calculate the productivity of each bu
Well, its not really simcity because it is hexagons, not square or free form and it is truly fun to watch the changes when you are bored in multi player when they have a large empire to manage. It also functions more towards the GC II buildings.
[quote who="sTn-" reply="25" id="3413653"] No turn-based combat either. I would rather keep it as it is then. The developers would also have to develop an AI for that, which could detract from them improving other parts of the game. An AI that isn't easy to exploit. I don't need to be in absolute control of individual units. Letting me determine fleet compositions, tactics etc. beforehand is sufficient
It wouldn't take much effort to make any environment to come to life, just insert idea, add animations or a background that changes with every turn. it will look more lively then if it was just the same damn thing all the time. If the developers wanted to take this idea further, what about asteroid fields that move 1 tile every turn in a straight line or possibly random spawning plasma storms that block out all sensors for a short period of time. Since this thread is so ho
You know what I do, I just install steam and everything on a drive that can be unplugged to computer to computer. This allows me to have access to steam on any computer on this earth without breaking the law, because it is classified as part of a computer. if steam goes out of business, oh well, just rinse out the trash and fill it up with stuff more important then games.
great idea, why don't you mod people make your own game, rack up millions of dollars and pay the 20 million dollars only to find yourself bankrupt on the curb because the game failed to sell well. Nothing competes to steam, and BTW Microsoft is no longer controlled by bill gates and they proved to be greedy fucks lately because haven't you seen the first Xbox one convention?
Frogboy got the money bags, please get 20 million dollars to frogboy and he will think of it as a viable option. I think the nail in the coffin has already been sealed unless we got a rich playboy billion air on the forum who can pay that kind of cash. I am sorry, but just state the facts.
I will take your word for it, there is some improvements that can be made, I perhaps shouldn't state things that conflicts with the forums existence, because obviously someone sees a problem when they spend time posting about it.
Also, my worry about steam is the hackers taken it over, you know people who has the technical skills to get whatever they want free. Imagine if steam had to deal with hacker attacks, they can probably leak cash from your PC every time you buy something. Then you got the email thieves who try to get into your email forcing you to jetson and destroy the entire bank of emails, which could cripple people with terrible memories. Then you got to worry about your mommy and daddy cut
I wouldn't miss steam if it went down, I use manipulation to get whatever I want free. Then again it would piss so many people off who invested hundreds into the system, I don't blame you for worrying about steam due to the legal documents provided. Basically steam can shut down anytime they wanted to, but I assure you they are making too much money to even consider doing such an action. If your worried about steam, everybody is because they put so much money into the
I think this series got the map editor down, even if it is not as fancy and elaborate as the Starcraft II editor, most of the suggestions were covered by GC I and II. Otherwise maybe a scenario editor or something would be nice considering that people would like to make missions and stuff to distribute to the online community, look at Tropical 4 scenario system to begin with. Other then that, I don't think GCIII needs some improvement since GCII already covers most customi
[quote who="Mac2411" reply="11" id="3412735"] Quoting Tyrantissar, reply 10 Um, in order to deplete metal, you would have to of had chemical changes to all metals in the galaxy so that they are no longer metals... this is by far the most stupid threads ever, any of you that has taken chem of any level know that there are such things as "physical" change and "chemical" change, ones that are reversible and one that is not. I am sure aliens wouldn't be stupid enough to burn
Well, I wouldn't care if it went of GOG, but it would be a nice business model for somebody who wants a non steam platform.
I would love to see some sort of turn based planetary interaction would make people kind of care more about how well they would do to battle. However such interactions should be limited due to the fact that there will be multiplayer, so keep the interactions nice and short, possible make or break the invasion efforts. Sure keep the options from GCII, but a short interaction or two could turn a slight defeat to a slight victory.
Well, This may be the end of the line sort of games, the series has evolved to match the epic space games of the ages. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the final release before they move on to a new series or perhaps even go further with the sins of a solar empire. Yes, I would be sad if this series had to end, but I think considering the 2nd one was based off of the 70's vision of space empires, this series maybe due for a retirement, unless they manage to drag on a
This topic is so hot they cannot ignore it, and I say please provide a non steam version, otherwise you will piss off so many people. Also I say yes to steam, because I have a steam account and everything for it.
Star bases should be used to do anything useful like increase the range of ships, provide combat support and generally make them a tactical option rather then something the series should be obsessed about. Lower the focus of star bases, please don't eliminate them completely please.
