I bet with that bowl of lollipops on her desk Kristy gets a lot of visitors. [e digicons]:D[/e] Thanks for the tour!
If you're seriously looking for help and not just here to gripe, please post exactly what expansions and DLCs you have, what civs you have tried playing, whether you're playing campaigns or sandbox games, what techs you typically research in what order, and whether you pay attention to adjac
If the game owners want to make that a feature, they really should make the AI fight to the last planet before giving up.
There's a gameplay setting for that, too. You can turn off AI surrenders completely. That's how I have it set.
If I were to give you just a single tip, it would be that the key to the game is raw production. Each unit of production yields one unit of social production, one of ship production, one of research, and one income. So build up your raw production by increasing your population and building bases on asteroids.
Is anyone else seeing a bug where a computer player is conquered and everything it owned but its home planet is destroyed? Is this unique to this mod or a bug in GC3?
It's not a bug, it's a "feature". Check your game settings, what you're seeing is the new default setting, but you can set it to restore the old behavior.
Our government is deciding whether or not liqour stores are an "essential service" and can therefore, like supermarkets, remain open. I'll keep you posted on that.
In Las Vegas both liquor stores and marijuana dispensaries are considered essential services, as one might expect considering it's Las Vegas. I'd be interested to hear what other countries/states are doing with them.
My wife and I are both retired, so except when we're traveling we usually sit around the house all day anyway. She had gone shopping before our governor shut down the state, so we're pretty well set for food. We of course had to cancel a trip where were were going to spend a week in northern Italy and then board a cruise ship to sail around the Med for 3 weeks. Fortunately we got most of our money back for the trip to Italy, and credit for a future cruise. Meanwhile,
"Massive Comet"? What, was "Sweet Meteor of Death" already trademarked?
@RedneckDude Nice setup! Comes with your own cat foot-warmer, I see.
I hope this Dropbox link works: https://www.dropbox.com/s/v9hgylltiudjiqr/FlickeringPlanetBug.7z?dl=0 What I did to recreate this problem from this save was: 1. Talk to the star base right next to me to learn about something it "smelled" on Eorthus. 2. Use the star base to travel to the starbase just north of the Eorthus system. 3. Travel to Eorthus. 4. Land on the plane
Are you in the proper age to research it?
Edit: Sorry for the long post, I tried to use spoiler tags but they seem not to have worked. Starting up the game again for the first time in over a year to play through the whole Earth Rising content, I went to Eorthus and saw the problem described above. In addition to the flickering I saw shadows of critters but no critters, and the crashed Scryve ship looked like a shadow with no ship. Edit: I exited the game, did a verify files in Steam, and got one file reacquired. Loaded the same post-main game save I had before, flew to Eorthus Prime and landed. Paying more attention
If you were asking me, that's a Logitech G403 wireless mouse and a Corsair K70 RGB keyboard.
Yes, I was. I thought the mouse looked familiar, I have a Logitech G700s. Thanks.
Ok, now I'm envious. Of both the desktop and the house. As the only things I can relate to, are those a Logitech mouse and keyboard beneath that incredible monitor?
If you're willing to consider mods, I recommend this one, which adds 3 new techs that unlock shipyard missions to go into the galaxy and find resources. https://www.nexusmods.com/galacticcivilizations3/mods/109
I replaced AdBlock Plus with ublock, and so far no breakage with Firefox, and it seems a bit faster. Thanks for the tip!
And here from the title of the original post I thought this thread was going to be a chart of disk drive access times from the IBM Model 350 (1957) through to the present [e digicons]:D[/e]
I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome more than 30 years ago, and have spent every night since then wearing wrist splints at night to keep my wrists straight. I've managed to keep it under control, although I do have pain in both wrists, but not the pain shooting up my arms like I used to get. Given some scarring issues from past surgeries I've shied away from the carpal tunnel surgery, but I wish you luck if you choose that path as I know it has helped many people.
Since you're looking for any response, no, I haven't seen this problem. I use carriers very heavily, and do not have this problem. I always design my own carriers using the assault carrier module, and get assault fighters. I have all expansions and DLCs, and I normally play a custom faction.
For non-synthetic races, unrest is strongly affected by the tax rate. I think distance from the homeworld and planet quality also factor in, but I'm not completely sure about those. But you can decrease your unrest by decreasing your tax rate.
I have an ancient Alienware laptop that I still use occasionally with 7 on it. It came with Vista and I upgraded it to 7. Tried to upgrade to 10, but it failed because of no drivers for some of the hardware. I'm stuck with 7 on that machine.

Reloading the game fixes it for me too, but only for a short while. The only other work-around I've found is to scroll the list of notifications, but that only works if the list is long enough to have a scroll bar.
Are you playing with the Retribution DLC? In my game I see a +1 to raw production for each level of the colony capital.
