All I do is click on the tech in the tech tree and it's selected for me. The only times it doesn't work are when I click on a tech that is too advanced - e.g. selecting a tech from the age of war when I'm still in the age of expansion. From the very first tech selection to the last I stay in the tree view.

It's #8 on my list here , and it's in many other trees: - TechDefsText.xml in the GenericWeaponsSpecializationTech2_Name label - IconianTechDefsText.xml in the IconianWeaponsSpecializationTech2_Name label - ThalanTechDefsText.xml in the ThalanWeaponsSpecializationTech2_Name label - AltarianTechDefsText.xml in the AltarianWeaponsSpecializationTech2_Name label - DrenginTechDefsText.xml In the Dren
-In the new tech UI, I have no way to see where available technologies will lead. I have to flip over to the tree, then flip back to pick the technology I want. I'd like the option to just stay in the tree and pick my technologies directly from there, as in GalCiv II.
There's no need to flip back, you can just pick the techs from the tree.
-On one occasion, the battle viewer failed to display. I heard all the proper sounds, and I could even hear button sounds when I clicked around the screen after the battle ended, but I had no visuals. I was forced to exit the game and reload. The most recent save file is here. This happened when I attacked "K.S.S. Deliverance M2-2" with "Altarian Fleet 10162".
As a circumvention until they get the problem fixed, try turning off "Trails" in the graphics optio
Except that mine already showed .97.7 before the update last night 5/11 and today a Stardock employee responding to my ticket asked me if the problem still occurred after that update. So there must be something after .97.7.
Isn't this post kind of redundant being that the main purpose for the badge is to see it under your name when you post something. So if you have to post in this post "test" or "checking" doesn't this mean that you're never posting in the forums to see your badge anyways so does it really matter if it's there or not?
Oh that's just too logical ... [e digicons]:D[/e]

At least the problem with treaty revenue not being shown in the economy window is still present in .97.7. I made a trade with a minor race, 1 duranthium for 9 bc per week and 49 bc. The treaty window shows the +9, but the economy window shows a 0 for treaty revenue, like in the screenshot above. In addition, the turn before the trade I had a weekly income of -22, and one turn after the trade I have an income of -21 (just a coincidence that it's the same number as
People have been requesting it for quite some time.
This weekend I managed to finish 2 games (played on small and medium maps so I could finish them before another update came through) and got scores of 11 and 14. I though I won them fairly convincingly, through culture on the first and alliance on the second. Yet I see on the metaverse a score 100 times higher on the same difficulty level (normal). So I wonder, beside difficulty, what factors into the final score? Map size? Type of victory (that was a hug
Very nice, Iridas!
Wow, I never would have thought of that.
im currently building four per turn from my home planet
Four per turn? How do you build more than one per turn? Have you modded the game?
Derek mentioned in another thread that they've narrowed the problem down and are working on a fix. In the meantime, he suggested turning off "Trails" in the Graphics tab of the game options. It worked for me.
@Frogboy but they can do ideology Which can net a colony ship. From where come the points to unlock the trait?
There had been some galactic events in the game that could have done it.
Having been a beta tester for an earlier GC, Elemental, and Fallen Enchantress, I have to agree with everything Stalker0 said. My experience with GC and FE was better than that with Elemental, but this has been the best yet. Getting the chance to be in on the development of a game that people around the world will enjoy, and contribute in some small way to that development, is priceless. Thank you, Brad, Paul, Derek, and Stardock.
As far as I've been able to tell, it's best to have them come from the trade capital unless you can make the trade route a lot longer by starting at a different planet. Cue one of JoeBall's amazing algebraic analyses in 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Sounds a lot like how GC2 didn't save influence status and had to recalculate it on the first turn after loading a saved game.
Congratulations to Brad and the team! And by team I mean developers and all the beta testers!
but they can do ideology Which can net a colony ship.
Well, they are Benevolent. So this is WAD? Good to know, it's a big and interesting difference from GC2.
In a game started on .97.5 I find a minor race, the Klepart, have colonized a nearby world on turn 100: If I recall correctly some one else reported this too, can't find the post at the moment. If you want it I can provide a saved game. Note: Post edited to change title after Frogboy's response.
In My Games\GalCiv3\Factions I have leader pictures in the LeaderFGs and Portraits folders, and the race icons in the Logos folder.
Do you think it's still too slow when the ship is repaired faster in a planet orbit?
The same thing happened to me, but they gave me credit for a Terran win instead of a custom faction. The custom faction was created in game and the only thing Terran about it was the tech tree. I chose the Terran tree instead of a generic tree, if that could be the reason. I haven't bothered with it because it doesn't matter that much. It was just a small map influence victory testing my custom races and the new influence
There's no quicksave either, is there?
