So I does this mean we are changing how production is generated entirely? It means that we can no longer increase production based on boosting population at each planet by simply building a factory and 10 farms. I would think that is still the case but the increase is probably more gradual as each planet now contributes to the galaxy as a whole. We will see!

I mean there's a small symbol looking like a green apple, what else would that be....
I see that in the Planetary screen. What is interesting is it feels like we will have more micro per planet if wanted if not using global governors. Also note that we have a return of citiz

I have one of that resource and I could decide to build one tiny ship or the new death star with it ! (ideotic HOI, CIV, Stellaris and still Gal Civ model) SO HOPE THAT sentence mean something ... On 2.0 on Insane with Spiral, Rare/Rare I can say that influence is not strong enough. Ideally I'd like to see an algorithm that has Influence scale based on map size. I suspect that Citizens will also greatly affect they way everything works including Influence. <span style="font

I like the portraits (of the citizens). I love it. I gives us another 'mini game' within the game and that is a great thing. It also breathes life into each planet we decide to put someone on. With luck we can uh mod the portraits. I would LOVE KRBJMS' uh sexy leader portraits as some of my scientists and leaders! The Terran's with an elite cadre of sexy scientists and diplomats, now that is collective bargaining!

These changes are outstanding! Its an entirely NEW GAME! I am simply at a loss for words and very impressed. You are right of course, this idea is so good why didn't we think of it before? I like the idea of locked placement. They are a FINITE resource and must be managed wisely. One question I have is this. ...Once you assign a citizen as a role can you 'hang on to him' till you have a pl
Ha! Started another game, at turn 102, I got the "Dread Lords" event. I think that DLC (or maybe Stardock) has it out for me and want my civilization to be dust! I'm curious to see how the Dread Lords will destroy me and what they look like, so I'll continue to play this game out. I just know that a few months from now, when I'm bored and welcoming the disruption of the Dread Lords or Peacekeepers, I wo

I am late to the party. Will Star Control be a 64 bit game and will it have support for DX12?

Seilore I agree. I like the Tight Clusters and I like the idea of each empire being its own island until they stretch out to other clusters. Distant Worlds does a good job in map generation with each empire its own island the 'varied clusters' settings.
LantharIllumen makes the case that I've been considering in my decision to hold off purchasing the mega events DLC. In GCII, I've had a least 2 games where the Dread Lords appeared twice in one game, so I am totally aware of how Peacekeepers would attrit a player and not the AI's. Mercenaries kinda reinforces that fear - after all - ever see the AI using Mercenaries? Yes I want the ship parts and if

You win the lucky player award. I have been playing since Alpha and have over 1200 hours playing game after game. I play on insane and about 25 factions plus full ai. In over 100 games I have NEVER once seen the Peace Keepers. .. I have seen the Dread lords once and that was mid game and to be h

If you get infected with one of these, does it affect separate drives used for files? For example my SSD has windows and my games on it. I have a HDD internal for most pictures and porn. Then i have another external HDD that has the bulk of my pictures, movies and such. My solution for viruses has always been to simply drop in my windows disc and reinstall. Will that work in this case and would the virus destroy the other HDD drives or would you still have t

This is an excellent idea. Does anyone know how much Civilization 4 was improved after the source code was released and modders introduced the ai mod? It was amazing (within its limitations as a 64 bit game). I doubt we can get that kind of access but it would be good to know how we can help either by collecting data or at least posting how the ai responds to various situations (like we do anyway). Great thread.
