Just like the title says, is the Elite founders edition of Star Control open or closed? I am dithering on funds and may make the jump to Elite founder for Star Control if its open... Cheers!

Erichild, did you get into the chat?
Ok I tried to add Rhonin as a friend or Admiral...says I need a Discord tag number...
Joined Discord. The app says invite has expired My name there is Larsenex #6634
Wait...we can be founders of Star Control? Where is that sign up sheet at?
I like it! The placement Hexes at the top of the screen, does that represent the 'starport'? Is there a difference between a star port and a shipyard in Crusade?
Erolies, you should skip any 'adulting' you feel compelled to do and instead focus on things that will change the Universe that being Galactic Civilizations III! [e digicons]:w00t:[/e]
I think we will get our hands on it as a beta likely at or near the middle of April. I am fine with waiting. The other thread giving opinions on invasions may also have triggered some ideas. Happy to know its going to be here eventually.
I would like to add to this discussion. Brads issues -It was difficult to build many legions meaning many planets were not defended or under defended~ All planets should have basic
I confirmed this by counting sectors in the smaller map sizes. An Insane galaxy with a HexSectorSize of 380 has 434,341 total hexes. My formula is slightly different from lyssailcor's because I use HexSectorSize, and he uses radius.
.............4000 holes in Blackbird Lankershim........" made me think of counting holes....
From what i got from the podcast on approval he was trying to get mars to rebell. Approval was affecting raw production which affects everything.
^^^ This is how it should be and once you pass a certain point your planet should simply start to rebel, and Ideally if it did so successfully then it becomes an 'independent' minor <<< for the time being, until you can uh, pacify them
That map Brad generated the Spiral Insane as a test was beautiful. I hope to see that again.
I thought it was like 980K in hexes but again I could be waaaay off! Paul made the maps and there was a discussion on the total hexes and such. Old Spider confirmed they are in fact hard coded to an upper limit. This maybe do keep stability. I am curious if you have the memory in both the may computer say 64 gigs of ram and had a pair of Titans rocking 8 gigs each if the engine itself would support a larger map. I think that only Brad and Paul and the other developers know how far it can go.&
Old Spider, thank you for your information! [e digicons]|-)[/e]
I am pretty sure we are not going to get the beta this month. There were way too many issues in the stream yesterday for a release. While I want the beta I am way more than happy to wait for a robust, stable game.
Admiral, actually I wanted to make the map physically bigger. I think the insane map is like 930,000 hexes or so. I wanted to go up say 20% and see if it would work. On the stream yesterday Brad had the most amazing spiral galaxy i have seen. It looked like 6 arms tightly spiraled and all well populated with stars from center to the edge. That is the galaxy I love playing on.
Thanks Horemvore. You gave me the answer I was looking for. In a nutshell we cannot create maps greater than insane at this time.
Greetings, One thing that I loved to hear was that tech costs will scale with map size! Most of my games have the research win disabled and I have found my self playing a game that last about 250 to 300 turns while the last 75 turns was me re-picking the capstone techs over and over. If I had one request i
Today's stream was excellent. Thank you Stardock and Frogboy for highlighting what will be a very successful expansion to Galactic Civilizations III. I was watching todays stream while actively working at my desk and taking customer calls and calling out to purchase live goods (what I do all day). You would think it being spring I would be so busy to not even have time to watch but its Galactic Civilizations so you make time for a stream (more so with Frogboy and Paul both there)! </
It was a good stream, lot of questions answered thanks. Can you get this stream posted so we can review it?
Delwyn, So if Stardock used the same Art as Amplitude then I could see a potential issue. In this case if its just a minor race that is named the same as in another game but uses different art and 'descriptions' I don't think its such an issue. Do we have any copyright lawyers hanging out here on the forums?
I plan on dropping in! [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e]
Tatiora, For next week~ Currently there is very little reason to build a Military Starbase. Will these be buffed somehow
Feel free to list your questions here then. I'll try to relay as much as I can.
Will the precursor worlds which boost production or tech worlds like ghost worlds or Economy banking worlds be changed in the Expansion? <span style="font-family: 'comic sans ms',
Avatar, I am sorry you got left out. I am enjoying Crusade as we speak. Its really cool and the new citizens are going to change the game! [e digicons]}:)[/e] ok Just kidding....
