If you are playing above 'normal' the ai gets bonuses to tech and it gets bonus to research production. This is totally normal. I only play gifted or above and usually if you have not noticed but by turn 75 to 125 if you look at the ai, it will almost always be ahead of you in techs. You should be targeting anomalies which 'can' grant instant research completion or reduction in times. I also focus and specialize about 25% of my planets for research. <

What difficulty where you playing on?
The administration-system is a hard-cap, not a soft one. Because even if you can increase it with research, this is limited.
You are correct. Still, I would like to see a finite number of Star Bases you can build capped. I also would like to see changes in how they improve the output of a planet rather than how they are now. As you pointed out all you need is to boost populatio
In response to Noric who wants unlimited amounts of constructors. The game was getting 'too messy' and there needed to be a cap on things a player can do. Putting a soft cap on the number of star-bases a player or ai can build will go a long way to help minimize star base spam. One of the biggest complaints was the micro management associated with the game and star base micro in particular. By limiting how many a player can build now you impact that problem. Before
WoW this is amazing! Thank you and I look forward to see it!
I wear a watch, in fact I take it off and set it near the monitor. I get it. but sometimes if its 'in game' its in your field of vision.
Thanks for posting Islandog!
I love the clock in several games. I am wondering if we can mod this in ourselves?
It would be interesting to see some good diplomacy based mega events. Not sure how it could be coded or done but along the lines of: Galaxy Aflame: The three different ideologies all unite, you must mak
Another great idea. I dislike that if you vote no you leave the UP. I would rather it just prevents the item from going into effect. Leaving the UP should have repercussions, maybe a reduction in global influence is also a good place to look. I also do not think the chairman should be given a bonus or at least reduce it to 10% and make the election process more fair. Right now all you have to do is have th
I love this idea. I would also like if there was a hidden bit of surprise in the Bazaar. Perhaps have the number of Bazaar's available scale to map size and each one has at most 5 ships you can select. Also it would be a good DLC to have MORE ships added, I know its not in the works but if you got ships and also we had ship captains/admirals that you can hire which are NOT a
I guess it depends on your goals. I like ones which give raw production or research and also amenities/happiness. I also like the one that turns a class zero into a class 16 planet.
I will be the one guy here to disagrees. Late game..after you get Stellar folders and Doom rays, engine stacking helps expedite the end of the game. I love both engine stacking and life support stacking. However I know some folks like to crawl. We shall see what Crusade brings....
I would really like it if the upgrade interface (both the governer and the specific ship popup) gave you the TOTAL cost of upgrades as well as the individual cost. I would also like it to inform you if your planned upgrade is going to take you below 0 credits (possibly by turning red?). Many have suggested this in past, as this was in Galactic Civilizations II, however, has yet

A while back were were supposed to get ideology from invasions, instead they made it a trait. I think we should have more options on how to get ideology. Since we interact with the map ONLY for colonizing or invading we need to derive them from those sources. I daresay trade would be good but we only really have a handful of trade routes per game, although those would also be a good source. In addition to those, Espionage can and will open up possibilities to get ideolo
Techs do not scale with map size although the probably should. I would love a 5th Ideology bar that was as race specific as Stardock would make it. It would make a nice DLC but I really think it would require FAR more hours of development and work than they could pull out of it via paid DLC. Take all our base races and add one more ideology bar for them. That is a ton of work. I think we may be getting some form of this flavor in the expansion since Brad has stated we are gettin
I am currently playing Insane +50 civs and no crashes.
OK, another step in the right direction, but to me it would just make more sense to revert the change on all of the map sizes so as to not have a massive size jolt between Medium and below and Large+. It seems pretty clear that this has not been an overly positive change (I have yet to say anyone actually LIKE it).
^^^ Joe, most of us on the forums are 'powerusers' of Gal Civ and long time civ pl
Horemvore, is this mod updated to the latest patch? I am going to start a new game using GST this weekend.
I have gifted entire fleets of older design ships. What I would like is this action tied to diplomacy. Better for the guys you are gifting and a malus to the enemy of the guy you are gifting.
It is working for a vast number of folks as it also works for me. So you need to fix your files. Go to steam, libraries and properties. From there you need to 'Validate files' this will go over and repair or replace any missing files. You may also have some mod conflicts so best to remove all those as well initially. Fire it up and see if it works properly.
Nice, thank you!
What game speed is that Srykes? What size map? A winning strategy is to spam shipyards to build colonizers. While not optimum it will put pressure on the player to expand as the Ai will settle the planets.
Wow, thanks for the replies! I will mod it up and fire up a new game tonight!
