I like the changes. They give each person a unique feel. It feels like you are rewarded (a bit) for being here and being part of the community.

One thing I would like to see is a 'preference' that the core ai have towards a win strategy and then have the ai work towards those goals at least initially. An example of what I am talking about: Drengin: They should use dipl

Thank you for this update. I know you were dithering over excluding DX10 and doing only DX11. It seems you were able to stay in DX10. My question is, can and will you eventually optimize Gal Civ III to DX12 or is it even doable? I am far from anyone with knowledge, but isn't' DX11 able to be 'better' than DX10 for '.....'everything'? I love you post's, here, please keep them up!

I live in this pansy-ass State. I wish I could reach every one of these morons who voted for the 'Gun Control' laws we have today and let them know what their Legislature's are doing. I am adamantly Pro Constitution and pro 2A, for the record. <span style="font-famil
I don't think an 8 core chip on a laptop is a good idea. First, you need a reason beyond gaming. For almost all gaming, you want a 4 core processor with individually higher processing rates. It is speed that runs demanding games, not core capacity. An 8 core will only be useful for certain games, like GalCiv that will use the cores for "thinking" not just moving pixels around. That is a real limited list of
I noticed you talked about cores, but I have a four core system with eight threads. A thread is supposed to work like a core. Shouldn't we also use extra threads.
I am pretty sure that is what Frog is also referring to. For the purposes of optimizing the game a thread is essentially the same as a core. Look at his rig, its a 6950K which is 8 cores+8 virtual ones for 16 threads. </p

I play only on insane. I play with Galactic Star Trek mod and leave out GRM which I do like but there was an issue that I did not feel like dealing with. I have an I5 with 16gig ram, GTX 970 all mounted on a Samsung 850 EVO SSD. I have never had a crash nor slow downs. My current game is turn 493 and I am working towards a domination victory as that is the only one I enabled..hehe.

I cannot remember but back in Beta when we had the combat viewer launch, beam weapons were actually a full lance that started from your 'shooting' ship and lanced all the across and one unbroken line to the enemy target. It was awesome! Unfortunately, it made a mess of the combat viewer as everyone build beam ships. Beams still are a good bang for the buck but that is another issue.
Would love to see the above improvements, but still concerned about existing game stability. big maps with 50+ civs on Genius mode and it's hard to get past turn 200 without game crashing to point where you have to start a new game.
This may be your computer system. I often play insane maps with 50 ai, minors and will have over 100 systems I have to manage, well into turn 4

Hey there General! I would say no. I am not sure what bugs you are having that is preventing you from enjoying the game. I have about 1330 hours now with Gal Civ III. I love it. However I do know others have a different view. I have found that Gal Civ III is a good game to stress test a computer. It is one of the only 4x games on the market that actually uses all the available threads on a multi core system. If you have a mid ran

There are currently only two types of battles with anomalies. 1) Defended by two pirate small vessels 3 attack..zero defense 2) Precursor anomalies, defended by 6 high beam and 1 high beam for a total of seven defenders None have defenses but do have at attack rated around 60. Ideally one ship with 65-70 shields and two weapons can take out a single one.

Actually, the hull reinforcement was Durantium and it was a VERY nice module in that you could stack it. I have no idea why they made the change to Thulium but I do agree its a non use item. If the resource gave at least 50 hit points it's use would be warranted. Compare a proto durantium driver which does what.8 points of damage. It is FAR and away the best weapon in the game for that early tier. After you get 'Durantium driver' you might as well just

There is an expansion that will fundamentally change the entire game and how everything is played right now. This expansion is going to be called Crusade and will removed the ability to control planets at the local level and will change how the empire works. It is a rewrite of how the game is now. Crusade is slated to be released Spring 2017.

"This can be fixed with very little code if a couple more factors are considered." ^^^^ I find this really humorous since you have no idea how hard or easy it may be to code what you want. The diplomacy is an ongoing work in progress and will always have room to improve. Try some of the mods created by players which make diplomacy and ai engagement more interesting while we wait for the expa

Horemvore, I am curious if there is any changes required for your mod to work with the opt in 183? I updated my files and was going to see if anything was needed at your end before I add GST back. I would like to keep the anomalies defended, would you be kind enough to send me
