I think you can mod this, GalCiv3GraphicsDefs.xml in data\core Code: xml StrategicIconDistanceInputHeightLow > 500 StrategicIconDistanceInputHeightLow
charon2112
Is there really no option for this? Maybe a mod, or a config change?
I'm not sure if it's a 1.9 problem, but galaxy generation seems to be much worse. Loose clusters results in a galaxy with almost perfect spaced, ordered looking stars, and tight clusters results in literally just a few spots with stars and an almost entirely empty galaxy. ??
anything? This one can't be stumping everyone.
I've been searching and I can't believe I'm the first person to ask this, but...in GC2 you could set the zoom level at which the detailed ships became icons. Is this not possible in GC3? I don't see it in the options. Thanks!
cool beans...

Wait, Civ VI is coming out?
There is also a variable called PrecursorPlanetPercentOfHabitable, which is set at 5%.
So this could be adjusted down to make them rarer?
Quoting tid242, reply 1 very cool, looking fwd to it.. ty guys.. Edit: Question: Is the Precursor Worlds bonus frequency tied to any of the sliders? (such as the precursor relic slider?) Anyone have any opinion on whether it should have its own slider?
I'd like to see espionage come back. Not the annoying aspects of it, but I miss planting spies on worlds and slowly building up knowledge of what a race is doing.
That's too bad, because they were a lot more meaningful and interesting when they happened only occasionally.
There currently doesn't seem to be any way to set the frequency of colonization special events. In GCII, these happened only every so often, but in GCIII they seem to happen every time I colonize, which defeats the purpose of them being special events. Could we get a setting in galaxy setup option to set the frequency of these events? Thanks.
In GalCiv II, you could go to the details of any planet and get all kinds of information about it. Stats, a little history, man on the street, etc.
This! I miss this aspect of GCII, and other little details.
Elite founders get these also?
The IC is not a government controlling the economy, but rather a corporation acting as a government. Considering that a corporations priority is simply to make profits, that would be about the worst thing that could happen to a country...or planet.
Are there no mega events? There absolutely needs to be. It was a huge cool thing in GC2.
Added 2 new difficulty levels: Easy and Incredible (much like my wife)
errr,,,which one? j/k
I don't see why having a large empire should affect morale anyway. You would think being part of a large civilization would help a citizens morale.
Don't know what to tell you Samusco, but GCIII has never once crashed for me, all through the alpha and beta process, and now into release. You're unlucky I guess.
Im going to remove game form my computer as it is causing numerous issues with my computer and will not be purchasing another stardock product. Was really looking forward to this game, but with the crap that was just released, i feel like I have been robbed. Galactic Civilizations II was so much better. Should of waited at least another 3 - 6 months before releasing it.
obvious troll is
That's come up before, But it doesn't add anything to the gameplay, so they aren't really considering it.
But the tooltip clearly says level 1, level 2, etc. maybe SD should explain in detail how these systems work, instead of leaving it up to us to figure out.
I thought that when you click once on an improvement, the number that shows up in the circle is the current level of the building. If it isn't, where does it currently show the level of the building? Also, buildings don't start at level one? That seems counter-intuitive.
It's a lot more polished than Civ V was at release. It took two major expansions for Civ V to become a great game, GCIII already is a great game, it just needs a polish. Besides often a bad review is simply because a game doesn't feature some detail that a player wants, it's entirely subjective. It doesn't mean it's not a fantastic game.
