I bet that everyone that says they don't see a need for a different badge is only a $39 founder... :D I say definitely give elite founders a gold badge.

I don't think it's this website. You probably have malware.
Since war is a huge part of any 4x strategy game, here are some changes to the combat from GalCiv2 that I'd love to see implemented in GalCiv3. -When I first encounter an alien spacecraft, there's no good reason why I should be able to right-click on it and see its exact weapon and armor specifications. This should require some espionage, advanced scanning technology, or first hand experience fighting the ships. It would make you think twice abo
Steam has worked out tremendously well for me. I find it extremely convenient, so I would prefer a Steam release.
4X strategy games usually have oodles and oodles of data and number crunching,
This is a good thing.
GalCiv is TBS - and hell will freeze over before Brad turns it into some kind of Combat RTS fest for the brain dead
I really want this to be true.
All the more reason that I think Jon Shafer designed this game. He loves hexes.
...Anybody going for a more sedate rate of expansion would find themselves left in the dust by the rushers (and the AI was fiendishly good at it).
Mostly because they AI already knows where all the good planets are and beelines straight for them. I hope this changes in GC3.
Are hexes confirmed? I thought Brad had said in the past that he didn't like hexes for 4X games.
I always thought the time line of 1 week per turn worked well.
Surely I am not the only one who finds ship building tedious? Maybe I am just missing something...
You're missing something. Ship designing is one of the 'one of a kind' features that made galciv2 a classic.
So how many of you still play GC II (any edition) on a regular basis?
I do, absolutely.
The idea of galciv3's combat consisting of moving little space ships around on a flat grid makes me sad. I want a grand cinematic view of the battle unfolding.
GalCiv isn't MOO. GalCiv is GalCiv.
And on that note, I think Brad said it best here: http://draginol.joeuser.com/article/88762/Galactic_Civilizations_is_not_Master_of_Orion <a id="_Content__Li
Question: Is this the project Jon Shafer was working on?
Just to clarify, auto-resolve isn't what I would want. I want a full on cinematic battle viewer so I can watch my admirals and fleets do their job.
Please god no tactical combat. combat viewer all the way.
