I also like the humor in the GC series. But I think it is important to also point out that humor has in the eye of the beholder. I don't think we can ALL be in agreement about whether GC2 was humorous or not.
True, but I consider funny and humorous two different things. You might find a comedy utterly not funny but it is still a comedy. Even if you find the galciv 2 humor very silly and stupid and ineffective,
So to emphasize the point again: Do not play the alpha expecting to have a fun game (though, ironically, the 1 on 1 multiplayer might have some bit of fun based on the playtesting I’ve seen).
I was thinking about that just the other day, I am looking forward to trying the multiplayer feature with other alpha testers.

Congrats on your decision to support Stardock and GalCiv 3! Nowadays I tend to put my money where my heart is and Pre-orders games I have faith in and support projects I Like on kickstarter instead of throwing my money at the big devs who only seem to be interested in making what will sell the most. Please understand that Stardock will need time to polish the game to a point where it compares to GalCiv2, just don't expect the Beta to feel like a finalized game immediately. T

What I do not like in the space 4x games with 3d maps Ive played is that the 3D limits the "Free roaming" aspect. You always have to tavel along lanes. Is there a 3d map with free roaming somewhere? It seems it would be hard to implement UI wise.

Added bonus, it's from Halo 2 Not bad. If we're going into the game-music territory, then this fits even better: War it's now or never we shall stand together one by one this world i

If you're going to let us have children, and those children inherit traits from their parents, can we have a tag that disallows certain traits from getting inherited? We have had a few more threads about the Humour of GalCiv and it seems that the general consensus is that most GalCiv players like this aspect. I certainly do. Furthermore it has become somewhat of a staple of the series at this point. I think the humour fits GalCiv 2 and has its place in the game. I think Brad is on the point about embracing the humor aspect and implementing it in a more thought out and uniform way. I am looking forward to it. In galci

Wonder what was the point of writing ''Play Now'' when the alpha is not out yet. Bound to annoy some buyers.

In just about any 4x I almost never finish my games. I just start over once the issue is clear :p But In CivIV Ive found myself finishing more games than in others simply because in Civ IV you would often end up with one civ going for Cultural victory or space race victory getting dangerously close to it and you would find yourself in a race to stop them. The way the game was made somehow the advancement of civs was ususually more balanced than in say galciv 2 where one civ co

There was this badass commercial here in Quebec when I was a kid. Every kid around my age was fascinated ( or scared to death) by it. It is a living proof that there was more kickass things in the 80`s. I was tempted to write something about the Yor that would be based on it. But people outside quebec and outside my Age group would not get it :p Yor Greeting: ''Hello meat

I do not see a particular problem with the AI spamming ships in GalCiv2. When he is inferior technologically you cannot blame him of having hordes of ship to try to 'compensate'. However AI is not big on upgrading and keeps his dinosaurs around, which is not the best strategy. When I play GalCiv2 I normally have fewer but higher quality fleets. I try to keep everything upgraded to the max or close enough.

Saying ''people are X or poeple are Y'' is a pretty common way of saying '' Most or many people are X or Y '', I for one understood that Tridus was not implying that 100% of the world`s population are cheapskates. I guess you have a right to not like it when people express themselves in such a diminutive manner but this one is so common it's really pointless making a fuss about it. Imho.

Ive never been big on playing campaigns in games like galciv simply because I really like custom games and would typically go straight to them. I did play the original DL campaing but that was ages ago but then I never bothered to play the expension campaings, despite playing ToA for years lol. Reading this makes me want to go back and play all the GalCiv campaings back to back. Really looking forward to more of those civ background previews! [e digicons
