Synthetic AI MUCH Stronger than Non Synth AI on Insanity

They grow their population must faster and their power graph increases dramatically over their non-Synth counterparts.  

The reason is because the AI gets massive production bonuses in insanity, and they use it to build pop.  And so they develop their world much faster in comparison.

As a result, for a challenge I change all the AIs to synthetic race with Yor tech tree.  

I wish someone would create a "synthetic mod," that changes the AI to synthetic but combine it with their unique tech tree.  For example, Altarian Synthetic would have the unique Altarian techs, but also have the Spark of Life techs too.  That way the different Synthetic AIs are actually different.

Why don't you make that mod. You'd still need to mod the tech trees more though to remove all the food related tech.

 

Personally I don't think it's worth it just for the challenge though I'm sure you will see more mod synthetics in the future I doubt they will just be synthetic versions of the stock races, would not be much fun really.

An easier way to mod for challenge would just be to further increase the production bonus or something like that.

Meat are weak, you are just seeing the simulation of what is to come.

(I've been playing solely as Yor to start. But it does sound like some values need tweaked.)

There is a mod section on the forum and a journal post explaining the basics of mod making, mostly it involves modifying copies of the XML files that hold the games data saving them in the correct folder structure. You can also add art assets.

 

I suggest have a look at the mods section of the forum and ask a few questions there, modding tech trees involves a couple of different files but depending how much your modding them could involve more.
