As far as the involvement of the nsa is concerned their is no way it's in the interest of the us government to admit to it if ot was. But this does look like exectly the type of backdoor weakening of vital internet security snowden talked about. The truth is we will never know for sure. The nsa have already officially denied it for what that is really worth.

There are many species of octopus that have the manual dexterity and intelligence to recognise food in a jar work out how to unscrew the lid of a jar and extract the food. To assume that because the humanoid form is the only possible form for technologicaly advanced life because we are the only example we have is extremely narrow minded.

Maybe I'm thinking of elemental, sure I could do it in some 4x game or antoher.

What you are talking about is not another view of the tech tree though it's a built in tech stratergy guide essentially, my argument is simple working these things out for yourself is a key part of the game and to not have to do this just removes part of the fun and skill involved in playing the game. Ultimatley of course players produce such stratergy guides over time that deal with tech as well as other elements and post them online finding and debating such stratergies is a gre

You know what I've never had to repurchase a game I bought on Steam going back to halflife2 which was I think the first game I bought. I have had to repurchase games I've bought on disk before. So not at all worried about buying on steam, despite the fact I've been around a few years myself I don't have this issue with trust.

I think we just have to agree to differ on this one too me it is part of the core gameplay to you it's a distraction from the core gameplay. For me teching up has always been one of the key things I enjoy about 4x stratergy games rather than an incidental. Ultimatley as long as it was switched off by default I wouldn't care if the game had such technology advisors, but I wouldn't like to see it divert too many resources from what I see as more worthwhile features that I wo

I would like to see one or two non-humanoid alien species added to GalCiv3, why I appreciate that the lore gives an explanation of why most species are humanoid is it impossible for any non-humanoid to be sentient in the GalCiv universe. I don’t count Thalan’s as non-humanoid by the way as just doing a humanoid with funny backwards looking arms doesn’t really count in my opinion. I seem to remember them being less humanoid in GC2 or am I wrong? However how ab

We can see from the journal post on the economics of FE: HL that allocating more than one resource doesn’t make financial sense and what can be produced by a single FTE in a short period of time without altering the game code is going to be rather limited. As I say I feel I’ve now paid back Stardocks over generosity in making up for Elemental and won’t be buying any more DLC unless it really seems to have significantly more content I noticed the new leader back stori

That's an interesting idea, I still think it distracts from the core gameplay e.g. working out how to become a Starbase guru for example, I can work that out for myself by looking at the tech tree. Yes it's non-trivial and involves some strategic thinking on what to research when but isn't that part of what a 4x stratergy game is all about. If you take that away they might as well abandon tech trees and have; Starbase Guru 1, Starbase Guru 2, ..., Starbase Guru n; Expansio

It’s already been stated that GC3 will be very modable, using XML in a similar way to the elemental line of games. But how much will modding be encouraged, even today finding good information about modding FE:LH is tricky. Encouraging modding more could greatly extend the life span of the game. So my questions: (1) Will Stardock be supporting Steam workshop for distribution of GC3 mods? (2) Will Stardock publish information on the meaning of t

Yes you don't need to be online to play your steam games generally, for me steam works well and made it a lot easier to reinstall my games when I bought a new PC, steam workshop is also a great way to distribute mod's I hope GC3 supports it.

Well it looks like the new ship designer gives you control over the materials as well as colors I assume materials include textures, so you could in theory have your own policy of how you use textures on any ship you put armour on. I doubt they will impose a texture for armour as that would counter the ability to add and blend materials shown by the shot in the founders vault.

I have to agree for me the ship builder was the heart and soul of GalCiv2 and as you say the one thing it did far better than any other 4x space game. From the teasers so far I'm expecting it to be a great improvement even on the old ship editor can't wait for this weeks preview.

Although I think it is fairly easy to resze an image in any image processing software including paint, I do agree these forums could do with an update, the server could easily resize the image itself after it's uploaded and these forums aren't very smart phone friendly either, they border on the just about usable. Then again maybe startdock should concentrate on there games the fourms are a bit out of date but still usable after all.

You should know if you reuse the same password across multiple sites, if so then yes you should change them all, personally I've only used my current password on this site. However changing them all before half the site you visit have patched is a bad idea especially if your going to reuse the same password again, I thought that when that news article came out I still think it. Don't get me wrong this is a really bad security flaw, but resetting all your passwords at
