Actually that might change Andro. In the Beta 6 patch 2 patch notes they are going to get rid of the flat bonuses / 4 and do a percentage boost. So we won't know until the opt-in goes live.

You don't have to micro if you don't want to . Set your research and production sliders to 50/50 then as you need money move the wealth slider vertical. Then just build building based on what you think you need. You can get pretty far doing this. Microing will help you edge out bigger turn advantage.
The error log says you don't have a idealogy preference chosen in debug.err.
Ah, ok. I finally got it to run after reinstalling the mod again. I like the look of this.

OH Man I forgot about metal fatigue. I love that game. I mean yeah it was a very basic RTS but it was so fun.
@Dumhed In your next update can you add a prefix to your ship designs with Jia_ or something like that. I would like to be able to quickly find them if they are to be in the main game directory.

I probably will switch to macro later. Due to my limited time I usually only get in a 150-200 turns between Opt-In builds. I feel the first 10 planets are the most important. After that you can slap down some buildings, turn on auto improve set your sliders and leave the colony alone.
I tend to micro each planet but thats just me. You can do just fine controlling your empire at a macro level and just microing your specialized planets.

You have another ship in the fleet, is that the constructor?. I noticed the support ships tend to trump the fighting ships for ship icons. For instance, if I have a troop transport my icon will be the trooop transport.
When a faction is destroyed the remaining ships become pirates.
Ok check that link I sent you. They appear to have imported. Drop the contents of the mod folder into the mod folder and the contents of the faction folder into the factions folder. Finally unzip the design folder into the design folder. If you run into problems let me know. I'm going to go through each of the factions and see if they load.

Kinda working out this myself. Some of the Faction creators went above and beyond and made their own ship files and such so you need to match the folder structure that the base game files are using. Read the text file in the mod folder. I'm interested in this myself so I will try and create a folder that includes all the contest winner files. I will post the folder in this thread. https://forums
I don't think they ever planned combat to keep in standoff range. Frogboy said in the stream he actually would like the range requirements removed. Whether that happens or not depends on SD. If you take the range requirements the AI for battleviewer is sufficient.
