How old is the picture of the Graphs Screens? I'm just asking, because it shows a starting date of 2238. According to the Timeline , the current year is 2242, or is that only the case for the campaign? Also, interesting to note, that we are down to two spending sliders (production and research). Big improvement over the four in GalCiv 2. Are those sliders still dependent on another (can't set both to 100%
GalCiv III has sublight speed, mass, rate of fire, weapons range, accuracy and evasion to deal with along with the roles of ships in a fleet.
On the one hand, I'm intrigued by these news, but on the other hand, I'm also a bit worried. I'll try to refrain from judging, until I learn how combat will actually work.

If you consider a population of 20b to be high, then that is perfectly achievable. WIllythemailboy, however, was talking about a population of 32.2b in his post. I consider an approval value of 75%+, and a tax rate of 69%+ to be high. A tax rate of 69% reduces morale by 96%. In
I want real time battles,
Not going to happen. GalCiv is a turn-based game, and the devs have already stated, that you won't be able to control each ship during combat. I think something like that is planned. At least this part from the FAQ gives me that impression: Q: Will the game require a network connection to play? A: No. However, some of the AI learning mechanisms will require access to the Metaverse in order to perform analysis on player strategies. This will be optional and able to be disabled by the player but does require an Internet connection.
