New v1.6 Metaverse Feature

Along with all the new gameplay features in Galactic Civilizations III v1.6 your end of game report information is now stored in the Metaverse. You can review your past victories, learn from your defeats... or study your rivals to see how they play!

I wanted to give our Founders a preview of this new feature. The new data is in the Metaverse section of the GalCiv3 website (once v1.6 is released tomorrow this will also be available from the Metaverse in-game).

  1. Open http://galciv3.com/metaverse
  2. Log in with your Steam credentials at the top of the screen (if you haven't logged in already).
  3. Click "Match History".
  4. Click a v1.6 game.
Alternatively you can skip the login and simply search for other players or click on the top players on the ladder to view their game reports.

Finally, using the web site is you can link to your best GalCiv3 games on your favorite forums or social media like this. We'd love to see some of your favorite v1.6 games so please post your links in this thread.

The link to a GalCiv3 game is really nice, but I had a problem with the information in it.

I looked and looked see which race you were playing, but I couldn't figure it out.  I looked again and finally saw that the Yor Singularity was shown first and was the only one with a score, so I'm going to assume that was you.  I then noticed that the Yor were listed first on all the graphs, so maybe that is a clue also.  I think it would be more obvious if the race you played was shown in the Match Details.

Also, the Yor were the only race with a Gifted AI.  Does that mean anything, or is that how humans are listed? O:)

Finally, it would be nice if how you were defeated was listed.  It doesn't look like you were conquered and made extinct.  Did the Drengin's high influence give them enough to win or was it something else.

Good points Spider! This was actually a cheated game. I used the AI to play for me so that's why it showed up at a "Gifted AI". Normally the player's name would shown instead. The type of victory or defeat is coming soon as well.

That's really cool.

Here for example you can see the game I used to create the Godlike Strategy Guide which won in 67 turns despite a negative custom race, no sensor boats etc ... while being dead last on the power charts!

Are there any plans to do anything about the scoring system?  A score of 0 for that game was a bit rough!

End of Icemaniaa's quote
It's on "the list".

Also something worth noting, for those matches where you replay a saved game and have multiple submissions, there will be a drop down near the top of the page that allows you to switch between each submission:

An example can be found here:

Select the drop down under "Match Details" to switch between the different submissions.
