Two things I noticed; - Only Terran heights are given in metric and imperial. - In the menu on the left, it says Torean instead of Torian. Otherwise YAY! [e digicons]\o/[/e]

There's a few things I'd like to see in the GalCiv3 ship editor. Things I missed in the GalCiv2 ship editor. Animations Though we were able to have items rotate, I'd like to see this taken a step (or two) further. I'd like to use the Klingon Bird of Prey as an example; when it flies around, it's wings are somewhat horizontal. When it's in combat, the wings are lowered and when landing on a planet (perhaps orbiting a planet in GalCiv3?) they are rais
I don't care if I can't control my ground-forces, I'll play another game for that type of combat. What I would like to see is that you have to actually build invading forces; tanks etc.
I was so excited to hear about GalCiv III! Stardock is a fantastic company and GalCiv is one of my all-time favorites. I admit, I have tons of questions, but one I've been wanting to ask is: will the map be hex or square? Cheers!
That question has already be answered, you should read some of the topics and the faq :)
Like I said, IGII's combat could easily be made turn-based. So no need for RTS :)
I'll take your word for it then.
Word of mouth is a very powerfull tool. You don't need Steam to make the sales, any other community will do too. If the game is good enough the word will spill over into other communities and the ball will keep on rolling. Mojang/Minecraft comes to mind.
So... we can have a paper ship? Or one made out of jelly-beans? [e digicons][/e]
Renaissance? You assume it was at a low-point before Steam? I'm sceptic about that because I've heard the "PC gaming is dead" routine since the first Playstation came out. And I have not seen a single year that didn't have some good games appear. True, there may be an influx of developers but most of them seem to be the casual-gaming kind and usually don't last that long. We've even had some high-profile demises of publishers/developers since 2000. Bu
Must be a setting. FF 23.0.1 and FF 25 are both giving me this behaviour. I can live with it though.
GalCiv3-A long twilight.mp3 GalCiv3-A new beginning.mp3 Rejected Thalan warning voice.wav Ship Designer - Advanced Mode Toolset.jpg All want to save as an htm file. They work properly when renaming the extension but it's not a nice way of doing things. Also, is there an NDA on this stuff???? edit: typo
You contradict yourself on the same line; "Point of view doesn't matter." + "A race enslaving others is evil". "A race enslaving others is evil" is a point of view. For example; what if a race is too stupid to survive on their own? Is enslavement (and the resulting continued existence) still evil? Also, your knowledge about World War 2 is lacking. Check out the following two links; <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Wa
What kind of ground combat would you like then?
I was annoyed with GalCiv2 when playing against just one AI on an immense map and it would start close by me. Why not start on the other side of the map? Why so close? It's even worse when you're playing against multiple AI's and you are all put together in a corner of the map which basicly cuts you off from the rest of the map. When playing a skirmish game I want to be able to arrange where each race starts. I don't expect exact control but a few standard o

Imperium Galactica II had a good planetary invasion system that could be easily adapted to turn-based.
One thing I would like to see in GC3 is the ability to close your space to other races. Meaning, If they try to enter your space. they get a warning that doing so would provoke a war. And then they choose what they want to do. Ofcourse, Other races could close their space too.
Maybe that skeleton thing is a VLC easter egg for Halloween and only present in certain versions?
Though a time loop is a possibility, it's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about adding to an iteration. 1 precursor > human > +1 goto 2 2 precursor > human > +1 goto 3 3 precursor > human > +1 goto 4 4 precursor > human > +1 goto 5 5 precursor > human > +1 goto 6 6 etc... (the numbers represent time, it doesn't go back to 1) Edit: Reading the link Wintersong gave, it more likely is
I'm an Elite Founder, I get that stuff for free [e digicons][/e] [e digicons]}:)[/e]
Though I make no speculation on the Thalan I've had the idea that the Precursors are actually Humans and that it's a continuous cycle. The end of this war would result in all other life ending and the Humans becoming the Precursors and seeding the galaxy with life, including their own original 'forms'.
Might as well fill this space up with 'useless' topics [e digicons][/e] [e digicons]^_^[/e] [e digicons];P[/e] So what are you going to name your star and what's the reason for that name (if any) ? I'm going to name my star 'Emmen'. It's my hometown, lived here all my life and am proud of it even though most Dutch people would call it a dump. Edit; why is this topic showing up in the General GC3 subforum? I posted it
I meant, I want to ask questions/reply too :) Plus an IRC applet can be integrated into the site and use a similar login like the Fouder's Vault; Staff and Founders would be able to ask/reply and non-founders would only be able to read (or would not even be able to do that, NDA stuff and such).
The image and title/menu music seem to work normal with a direct click, the other two songs however are presented as GalCiv3-A.htm
Yes, but I don't want to just read ;)
