Without knowing how the second-hand pc market is in your area. If you can afford a 500 Dollar Steam machine, you can probably get a complete second-hand Core i3 or i5 (maybe even i7) system (or comparable AMD system) for the same price. I mean complete as in monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers & OS included.

The video on the game page is on youtube and it allows the selection of 720p. Though, compression seems to be abundant so they either scaled it up or they used a lot of compression to get the size down.
The Founder's Elite edition is going to be, by far, the best deal. We have planned 2 or 3 major expansions plus god knows how many DLC packs over the next several years.
Uhm, in 10 years the game plus all expansions and dlc will probably be available for a few bucks. So I'd say, that's by far the best deal. As long as we don't count being able to play the game as soon as p
I don't think there is such a tool, at least not available (yet). However, you might want to have a look here; https://forums.galciv3.com/450006/page/1/
Actually, waiting untill the game (including all it's add-on's/dlc's) is on Steam for just a few bucks a bunch of years later is the most cost effective ;)
I'm hoping we'll get powerplants for ships. And no more sensor range without a sensor module installed!
Why not name them by their radius? So 9, 21, 47, 83, etc.
that it's not that easy to achieve
Yes, not that EASY to achieve. The person I was quoting said there was no way. If you get all the galactic achievements/trade goods that increase morale and have the best morale buildings plus perhaps some tech from other species that increases happiness, it is possible to have a large population, high morale and high tax rates. And playing at cakewalk level makes that all easy to
Clearly the morale-population link has been significantly altered, there's no way you'd have 32.2 billion people at 89% happiness under the GC2 model.
Then you haven't been playing right. I'm wondering, why is this one released to the public and is the other diplomacy screenshot in the founders repository? They're not that different.
I assume it's all fixed-position again? No planets rotating around their stars?
Uhm, this is not a list your location topic guys/gals :+ A meet & greet could be nice for those who can attend, how about a GC Con (convention) with live video footage available (for founders only? [e digicons]}:)[/e] )

It has been indicated that they are seperate engines.
According to FrogBrad Draginol (why do you have so many names? [e digicons]:grin:[/e] ) in the GC3 Founders Vault topic;
There's no NDA on discussion. But don't redistribute them.
I'd like some more info about NDA 1) What is the punishment for breaking the NDA and how strict are you in enforcing it? Will you look at it case by case or have one rule for every case? 2) When the alpha comes out, can we post our own screen
Do I see a black hole and a binary starsystem on that GC3 Alpha screenshot? [e digicons][/e]
No, I just don't like having accounts I only use once.

Any development on this?
The first pc game I played? I don't remember. The first I played and loved? Doom, or was it Doom II? But that was on a friend's computer. Dune II came later (computer at school) but was absolutely an instant love affair. I was hooked on RTS from that moment. On my own PC, the first games I played and loved were The Settlers 2, The Need for Speed, Transport Tycoon and SimCity 2000. I name them all in one go because I got them all at the same time (a little after I first played

Don't forget the tiles for morale ;) As for economic tiles; aren't asteroids and moons (or rings, whichever of the two gives that bonus) enough bonusses? And don't forget trade.
