I hope the solar systems will be more realistic; planets orbiting stars. And what about the simple asteroid or comet travelling through space?

So... I have Steam now. Bought Sins of a Solar Empire so I needed that. So I guess I don't mind now if GC3 is Steam-only but I still would like a physical version and would be willing to pay extra for it.
edit; nvm, wrong subforum.
I have an idea for research to make it less 'just click on a button'. I'll immediately admit, I got this idea from Imperium Galactica II, sorry about that [e digicons]:smitten:[/e] Simply clicking on what to research next becomes monotonous. In order to combat this, there could be simple missions in order to research a certain technology. Examples: "Technology A" requires you to follow clues to find a scientist who has vital knowledge to progress research. "T
Master of Orion is a no-go. Wargaming (world of tanks) bought the rights to that franchise when they were auctioned of recently. Stardock made a bid on it too, but apparently not high enough.
Strange. How can the Snathi become a major race when in every game I played, I wiped them out? [e digicons]^_^[/e]
But it's exceedingly unlikely there will be a version that doesn't use Steamworks.
But could we at least get a physical version in a nice cardboard box with a printed manual (that still requires Steam) ? I'd pay 10 bucks extra for it. Maybe a collector's edition? add a figurine of one of the races and a large poster of something. But not a tech tree! The one that came with GC2 was useless with ToTa :D
Deadlock II: Shrine Wars (don't know about #1) falls into the same category as Civilization and Alpha Centauri but is probably cheaper to acquire.

Star Citizen and Minecraft are two good examples of the contrary. Give me $20M and I'll hire the people necessary to make it non-Steam works. May the check payable out to me directly please. I'm wondering what Brad's thoughts are on Mantle.
Someone pleaded for Imperium Galactic War but I got some other suggestions for franchises Stardock might have a look at for possible acquisition. Probably a longshot, but if I don't say it, it'll keep gnawing at me. 1) Imperium Galactica This would make a great real-time counterpart for Galactic Civilizations. (If you (Stardock) want to have a look, but can't find a copy, I've got an extra one plus a disc with all updates) <st
If you have a retro-gaming machine they are! That's why I bought Windows98se in 2012 (no joke!)
And what if 20 years down the road you want to play the game again for old times sake but can't because both Stardock and Steam are gone (or worse; the internet :X )? I want an independent physical version for just that reason.

I'm on the anti-steam bandwagon. I don't have Steam and having to make yet another account at another site to get 1 game is not something I look forward too. Call me old-fashioned but I like to have a physical version of what I buy in a nice cardboard box. Should Steam (or any online distribution platform) go belly-up, I can at least continue playing the game with a physical version. In short; I don't want to make yet another a
I hope the colonies will be more like in Imperium Galactica II; 3D.
I'd like it to be a bit more difficult to colonize planets. In the beginning you should only be able to colonize planets that are similar to your homeworld. In order to colonize other worlds (barren, toxic, etc) you would have to research the tech. Yes, this is how it was in GCII, however, I would apply that to every planet and make Planet Quality (PQ) a secondary stat for colonizing, making the type of planet, the primary stat.
So according to what has been revealed so far, diplomacy is getting a good update. But what about espionage? GC2's espionage system was more like an afterthought, it didn't really add anything to the game except allowing the AI to annoy the hell out of you. If the espionage system is going to be revamped I urge/plead/beg/recommend you to have a look at how it's done in Imperium Galactica II because it's espionage s
