Hmm, the GC3 Menu Music sounds very "Star Trek Movie"-ish. And that's a good thing, don't change it! I love the music from the movies (1 - 10) [e digicons][/e] Also, when I try to download, it downloads as an aspx/html file and not mp3. Room for improvement there.

I was wondering if there is a possibility we founders might get a Q&A IRC session with the crew? And maybe post the transcript later on in the Journals section? Just thinking that it might save you guys some time from browsing and answering questions on the forums. Plus, it's a little extra for the founders, seeing as the alpha is still probably a few months away ;)

Say no to 2D colony screens! Imperium Galactica (1997, and it's sequel IGII (1999)) already had 3D colony screens that worked perfectly. Leave 2D for the UI. Have you ever seen a coastguard ship with those big-ass cannons from a battleship? Hullsize is a proper way to determine what and how much you can put on your ship. Powersupply is another; lifesupport, engines, weapons and defenses all need power. A nuclear reactor provides more power than a diesel engine but would also take up more space. So no, I don't think you should get rid of hull sizes. I do think other stuff should also affect what you can put on your ship an

From the FAQ: https://www.galciv3.com/game/faq
Q: Why don’t you support DirectX 9? A: DirectX 10 and 11 allow us to easily have multiple threads touch the graphics card simultaneously. This results in much higher-quality font rendering, makes it a lot easier to support advanced UI scaling, and makes the game less CPU-bound which will be important for giving the artificial intellige

Something what ruins games for me is repetitiveness . It makes games boring and drains any will out of me to play the game. Galactic Civilizations II had this problem in big-ass skirmish galaxies; Colonize, develop, expand. And once in a while I'd fight with an enemy. But once you've got your empire functioning properly, there's not much fun in it anymore. I recently bought "Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity" because the price was low, bu

I could use fraps and make a movie from actual ingame footage, But I'm not that artistic to get those really great shots 'on the fly'. I'd like an option to record a game; not the output of the videocard but the data that is processed (what is where at what time and what is it doing?). You would import this in the editor and it would render the scene. You then determine where you want the camera to be at specified times (timeline editor as in Adobe's flash edito

It doesn't make sense, but it could slow down the initial colony rush and prevent minor races from sending out so damn many constructors to take resources before you even have a chance to get to them.

I disliked the way sensors 'behaved' in Galactic Civilizations II; they had a fixed radius/diameter. In Imperium Galactica II the further you got away from your planets, the smaller the radius/diameter of the ships sensors became untill you had nothing left. This slowed down the exploration of the galaxy significantly. In Galactic Civilizations III, such behaviour would also put a stop to the quick exploitation of various elements in the galaxy (minor races sending out cons

Stargates got canned when hyperdrive entered the scene; https://www.galciv3.com/databanks/our-story/humanity-and-hyperdrive
Research firms across the planet quickly concluded that a propulsion system could be developed using the theories from the stargate that would enable individual ships to travel on their own. Those same individual ships would also be able to travel much faster than

In didn't play many games with random events, probably because I'm more into building up an effecient empire, more than dealing with other stuff. I did like finding precursor ships early on in the game and the terraforming event; making a new 20+ planet. Economy changes also made it interesting. As for mega events; didn't like them, so usually played without them. What events I want to see in GC3? - Star going supernova (coupled with a mission like ev

Of the top of my head, this is what was possible in IGII; - Training (different levels, higher level of training cost more and takes longer) - Gather intel (planet locations, fleet info, tech info) - Steal (credits and technology) - Assassinate leaders (causing instability in the empire, planets defect to other empires) - Counter-intelligence (enemy spies get wrong info) - Hunt enemy spies (hunt them down and then either kill them or try to turn them; double-a
