I have not seen that problem? If i use a slow computer, its not the end turn that is slow, its the mouse pointer being all 'sticky' (which is annoying as hell) Do you get sticky mouse? if not, then your computer is not at all overloaded yet.
I checked the planet file when did anyone see a random class four.
There were lots of random low class planets like that in galciv2. You could colonize then but there was a heavy economic penalty. I used to colonize them to get the alignment shift i wanted and then destroy the colony
To get the best out of the AI, you have to feign weakness. In any game that i come out strong, the AI wont build good fleets, but if i get behind, the AI will come hard with insanely powerful fleets. I call it the 'shark' effect.... The AI is going to stay asleep/lethargic unless it smells blood in the water, then it comes at you crazy hard
It would be very nice to have the anchor/unanchor feature added to starbases as well as shipyards. but then you could keep moving your influence starbases forward and the AI wont know how to do that kind of strategy..... ok disable starbase anchoring for higher difficulty levels - problem solved.
The main reason it doesn't work is if you could get everything for free then very few would work and it would be hard to promote someone. Except when people wanted to be jerks with a power trip. And people complain about their bosses now imagine how much worse it would be when that is the only reason it is to get promoted. After 100 turns they know each other. Its probably a locked out option - exactly why i do not know? One possibility is that they have a recent peace treaty? Even the player cannot go to war too soon after a peace treaty.
Most of the ship info screens its missing..... however, when you hover the mouse pointer over the ship (dont click on it), that auto into that comes up, miraculously tells you the population!

I have seen a few posts on the power matrix. I have noticed in my games that the Yor are always the weakest race. If i think of it i will put them up a level or two above others. Its rather odd since most sci fi depicts synthetic races as very powerful.... look at the Borg in startrek or the replicants in Stargate. Ok arguably the synthetics are a bit weak in Starwars tho..... hopeless shots and fall apart at the drop of a h
Makes me wonder what other interesting events there are? where can i look to find out?
Yea, i had that exact same problem at first too. Only by asking in the forum was i able to find out. In Galciv2, the rotation is controlled by arrows, so that is what i was looking for in Galciv3, but its not there, and i am like WTF?
I name one of a kind component ships. It doesn't help when looking for ships in fleets. I can envision having designs that are unique enough to visually stand out in fleets. Most of my designs do that anyway. [e digicons]:)[/e] But you still have to look through all the fleets. I want sort-by-name to have an option to list ships in fleets. That would help me and my usage.
<
Well, the answer is to build your own ship templates that you only use for special component ships - not using active components, just make then visually unique. Any time you spot that ship on the map you know instantly its a special ship.... even just glancing at the ship list, you can recognize it that way too.
No body mentioned scouts? Cargo hulls are determined to be a little expensive, you may as well be building military ships, that's the problem there. Tiny hull scouts cheap to build or you can easily buy them from the AI.... not that much sensor range or speed, but, they are very good at attracting enemy fleets to the location you want. Run them towards the enemy until you spot an enemy asset, then run them back again near your powerful fleets, they are just like little fis
You can limit the problem by only using prototype engines and weapons on that ship. But the two things that are going to be annoying with increasing technology is capacity and range. There is no prototype range component..... there should be! If there was a prototype range component, i would be happy with that, problem solved.
Although your original ships get percentage bonuses from some sensor specializations, to get really noticeable sensor range, build new boats with the newer sensors and better base sensor values. Then the percentage bonuses will have something to work with. It takes both factors to really get anywhere. The mechanics involved are meant to make sensor range a challenge, but it is worth the effort. Gotta see 'em to shoot &#
I don't crunch numbers so not going to take the time to figure it out, *sigh* You know, in the time you took to post this, you could have done the calculation allready. As the admiral allready pointed out, you can simplify the problem a lot: You don't have to consider the base bonusses of any building. &nbs

He had these lone ships that would occasionally kill one of my auto scouts, no big deal. I keep thinking they don't have range to come down further,
I heard there was a fix to how shipyard auto queue works? "- The shipyard button "continue making this design until further notice" wasn't checking prereqs when deciding if it should be enabled for a build queue entry." Is now fixed.... but what exactly does that mean? Does that mean every time a traded resource influencing capacity expires, i have to now reset all my shipyard production manually? I never use diplomacy to win because i enjoy being recalcitrant too much! lol recalcitrant - definition; having an obstinately uncooperative attitude towards authority or discipline..... (that's me in galciv3 when facing stronger AI's)
