I like it.... A big part of the enjoyment of the game is for the AI to be illogical and annoy you so that you can take great pleasure in punishing them for it!

Oh yea, it is tiring to have to constantly exit the diplomacy screen to check what you have. Personally i do not see the purpose of having tech specialization if you can get the other techs?? Its like your own scientists refuse to research that other tech so you have to get it off someone else??? And then when you get it and show your scientists and say "look, its useful" but still they refuse to research other specializations despite this evidence you threw in their fa
I guess you updated your drivers already? Its likely to be graphics or memory i think? I find the game became more unstable after adding some DLC and i had to update my Wireless drivers. How is your virtual memory set up?
another thing is to force it to another spot I believe if you park a fleet in the spot it normally ejects it looks for a open spot.
Here is part of a very good solution..... but your ship will always pile on top of your own ships, therefore..... park a ship to block the normal exit and then sell that ship to another race! That should solve the problem.
Network drivers can do strange things, deep in the OS things, if they go crazy. The OS programmers have done much to protect themselves, but sometimes it can still get away from them. A set of drivers tuned to talk to a local thumbdrive router really shouldn't look any different than one talking to an external router, but if they took any shortcuts for "efficiency", that would have possible consequences. Things like ora
I noticed you can only rush by one building per turn. It wont let you rush buy more than one, however..... I have often seen planets with several rush bought items in the queue because of anomaly effects.... you know, the effect that comes because the game is busy stiffing you on the free techs. What happens the next turn i did not notice? do they all get built? if so.... well that is an 'exception'
I really like the trick of "Upgrading" once you use one constructor module. Especially early game and bases are far out.
Took me a few seconds to understand what you are talking about, then i'm like, "oooooooooh yea, nice one!"
I have never encountered a crash like this before.... After adding a few new DLC to my game.... I am playing the game, it suddenly freezes, then suddenly computer restarts by itself!! When it restarts i notice the wireless router is not present, as in connected but the computer thinks it is not there at all. I restart, yet still, router is gone! I unplug router, plug it back in, hello, works fine now! Playing again,
I always used to think constructors on small hull is cheaper than cargo hull...... running my whole empire with double construction module on small hull. Then only recently i finally worked out that even in the very early game, two modules on a cargo hull is cheaper than one module on a small hull..... well not 'cheaper' per ship, but cheaper per constructor module. Eventually when you get five constructor modules on one cargo hull, plus double constructor power

All these complications with ship assignments..... in Galciv2 the AI was very good at the targeting priority that gave me a hard time.... my 'escort' also has to have superior attack in order to be targeted first. That prevented you from using high defensive ships and 'glass' firepower ships. But no doubt ship assignments make things more interesting and gave us players lots of exploits over time, but slowly it is improving with updates.
Yeah, gold-pressed latinum can't be replicated. This is something I knew, but didn't really care about. (no one remember my previous avatar was from Star Trek)
No one noticed the little mistake that created..... every time a Ferengi trader uses a transporter, he will lose all his money! carn't be replicated = carn't be transported
If it relies on random chance, then it is not 'impossible' that you will NEVER get any ever again
up the planet class to level 5 (barely habitable)
I would not split the carrier fighters.... make them ALL guardians, that way, they will put all effort to protect your carriers when it counts, and later on eventually attack enemy carriers. Because what is the hurry to attack enemy carriers? Ok if their fleet is more powerful, then you might want to target their carriers first, and do whatever damage you can before losing.

I sometimes get a message from an AI when I load a saved game that was saved during my turn (meaning I had already done some things but was not yet ready to press turn). So probably the influence is freshly calculated and if a planet is ripe for flipping ... well it will flip.
Yea, that is exactly what happens to my planets und

From my own observation I thought the culture flipping went to zero every time you save and reload the game? However any of my own planets under culture pressure will immediately flip when saving and reloading. So whenever there is a culture situation i usually leave my computer running overnight to avoid this reload nonsense.
Also 5% in most cases is unlikely to change the number of turns for production, because of the incremental nature of turns..... for example, it was due to be completed in 10.6 turns = 11 turns. Add 5% who knows it could then be 10.9 turns = 11 turns. No visible change at all. But in the overall scheme of things with small amounts of production carried over here and there, it all adds up.
Greetings, To change planet origin of freighter, enter shipyard that is sponsored by that planet. All you need to do now is exit the shipyard. The AI should not sell planets, agreed, however as far as buying starbases, well, it is limited by how much money the AI has.... I am usually hard pressed to find AI's with enough cash to buy my techs let alone starbases. It could be handy to aid me with buying techs from a more advanced AI though.... so i will keep this 'exploit' in mind for that situation, thanks.
What i noticed in an earlier version pre 1.82.... I was at war with the Korath and they were sending powerful fleets against me. I was able to deal with them ok, but when my fleets started getting noticeably more powerful, that is when i noticed a change in their behavior. They started 'sneaking' fleets through wherever i did not have sensors, and sometimes manage to destroy one or two starbases before being intercep
