The precedent in historical terms is they should join your race. Austrian military assets were obviously absorbed by Germany when the country was annexed in WW2..... but they did not maintain active Austrian military forces as such..... So it kind of translates to Galciv in this way..... all the minor races ships become cargo pods on the map that you have to claim, and then the ships become yours.

Look at this thread; https://forums.galciv3.com/479073/page/1/#3646660 Couple of my comments from there; What you need to know for a good start in galciv3.... First tech to go for is interstellar survey. First planet colonized, you need to go for pragmatic ideology and get the three free constructors. You need to find Thalium resource, if possibl
I think the advice in this thread is hitting the nail on the head on why I don't find myself wanting to play anymore. You "have to" rush constructors using ideology, build a ton of planetary star bases, stack sensors (which still feels like cheese to me, sorry), etc. You have all these wonderful races, different ideologies, and potential for role-playing and re-playability, but to compete there is a pretty linear pa
I'm interested in a slightly tangent question: Any restriction on use of screenshots of ships? (Like, could they be used as artwork for another application?)
You could probably find some tiny technical law against that somewhere, but usually no one cares so long as you do not use it in any commercial way..... for example, copy someones ship design from here and sell it to a movie studio for

There seems to be a lot of people who over-value bonuses to the detriment of their productivity. Creating sets of seven is very important for maximum effectiveness. A full set of six

So far as early military build up is concerned..... i have a couple of nice tricks for that; When you set up your game, put minor races on 'abundant'. Then put tech brokering on. During the game you can sell techs to the minor races, and when they don't have much money, you can buy some of their combat ships each time with your techs. The combat ships are very expensive but since they don't have enough cash for your techs, you really have nothing

The problem with ideology is the brick wall you hit because of the expense multiplier. But i think it works pretty good, so the way to fix that problem is to have a late tech tree tech to increase the productivity of Ideology structures so you can breathe a bit of life back into ideology later on in the game.
Trade resource buffs stack. Most of them are better than anything you can replace them with.
That is not what the wording in the description implies???? It clearly says "one per race", and who would believe a Stardock description of something would be unclear? Never happens! ... also i am never sarcastic either.

I think if you scroll the mouse wheel back (zoom out) to reach the basic graphics, then it will be visible..... that is how i found out, because i zoomed out and saw the antimatter and wondered where the hell it suddenly came from? lol Black holes were still visible for me zoomed in though - they just look like a small black planet.

Combat odds.... I remember the 99% chance of victory combat odds in Civ4 going funny quite often whereby a cavalry unit with a riffle can defeat a tank! Lets say the cavalry unit is having a moment of being astronomically lucky, fair enough, but how the hell does that translate to being able to defeat a tank??? hahahahaha Games are stupid regarding combat odds.

Actually i have always wondered about this type of thing? Not taking adjacency into account; When it comes to planetary tile bonuses and what is the best structure to put on them? For economic bonuses for example, should you put the economic capital on it or just a market or a bank? What about trade capital? A manufacturing bonus, what is best on it? A factory? a manufacturing capital? or a duranthium

Yea, in my games i am always randomly finding lost scouts that i had put on explore a million years ago. Sometimes they bunch up into a fleet and i see the mystery fleet and my first thought is "oh shit, a pirate fleet attacking" hahahahaha Then i send them to starbases to be upgraded to tiny constructors as soon as i have researched enough hull capacity to do it..... which is pretty much every bit of hull expansion available in the game! lol
