I agree, lame jokes should not be used to disguise other lameness. But in all fairness, no one is forcing him to hold to any cookie-cutter formula. It's like if Stardock made some architecture changes to Galciv4 and people said, "That's not TBS," or "That's not 4X". My answer: who cares.

They make turkey in November, but not in Canada.
I'd be okay with the humor if they would just commit to that route and it was actually funny.
I tried pausable RTS in Lords of Magic and Dragon Age, and hate it. And Dragon Age got good reviews. I think it makes more sense instead to slow down the RTS heartbeat. Make it take a couple minutes to take a planet, even with all the bombardment in the world. A fast heartbeat (such as C&C:RA2) makes it more about memorizing hotkeys and muscle memory, which is more like an arcade game. Too slow, and you have to commit the next 6 hours of your life to
Which course is The Orville taking? Comedy, or Star Trek? Seth does this tremendous job of turning LGBTQ issues on its head, stirring up opinionated feelings...and then...Santa Claus. That just didn't work. It was out of place. The characters are already more developed than ST:Next Generation was into its third episode, but the captain just isn't turning into the sort of character you would expect from a comedy.
BHG managed to turn Civ into a RTS with Rise of Nations, and Rise of Nations is awesome.
I prefer RTS.
Fallen Enchantress:Legendary Heroes: $9.99 Stardock Legends pack, containing Fallen Enchantress:Legendary Heroes: $9.99
I did that in Galciv1 all the time: - Sell an AI a planet. - Backstab the AI and invade the planet - Get the free tech - Repeat
They're trying. I used mercenaries in 2.33 to create a planet that could create citizens in one turn; no specialists, no mods. No reassigning of asteroids. 5000 social production/turn, 3309 ship/turn. It was nuts. The most expensive huge-hulled carrier I could come up with was only 2400. I ended up having to rotate shipyards, so the carryover would kick in. I'm sure Stardock is trying to prevent that.
I get the colony ship all the time. I just cancel the build and try treasure hunt again.
The behavior I have seen: deep core mine will accept either social or all, but gives all. Starport accepts ship or all, but gives ship. Factories give and accept all. Then you get the funky buildings, such as Arcean. Weather receives approval, does not accept all, but gives all. Stellar forge gives ship and social, but not all. Nav centers give social, but receive ship and all. I have no qualms about save-and-reload when it's for these experiment
I also saw the behavior. I just got used to it.
I found out that Seth Macfarlane was supposed to be on AA flight 11; the plane that hit the WTC North Tower. He was late to the airport by 10 minutes. He had a hangover, and his travel agent gave him the wrong time.
That was exploitable.
Thanks. That's it. Selling by registered insiders right after they discovered the breach, but before it went public, certainly does the trick.
EFX is averaging about 400k shares traded every trading session. Each trade has a buyer and a seller. The only irregularity I'm seeing is a sharp decrease in trading volume on August 6th--not increase.
I wasn't going to get into religion. Too OT. But no, I don't consider them mistaken fanatics. Actually, it helps drive home what I'm getting at: if you are willing to die for something, or someone, then biologically speaking there is simply no way that it serves your own self-interest. Something transcends that. Love only because it "feels good" is not love. The willingness to die for one's offspring, I could see the possible biological component to i
Interesting, but what suggests a connection, beyond some people selling their stock? Equifax stock traded during that time, and every transaction has a buyer and a seller.
I'm betting that's their Wesley Crusher. Worf lays an egg, it's female. Their alien species grows up really quickly, she instantly becomes qualified crew. It's hilarious.
ALL life is self-interested
The difference is in the altruism. Good is altruistic, which by definition actually runs contrary to self interests. And in fact I would argue that without altruism, human life is not possible, either. I'm going off this idea that good is after the greater good...evil looks only after one's self and hurts everyone else...pragmatic will be either good or evil depending on what's good for them. &nb
Fortunately, Sunday isn't the regular night for The Orville - that would be Thursday. Last week they played it both nights. Look for ep. 2 two nights hence. Fairly decent, and they get what is apparently a new crew member
Is this the crew member that hatches from an egg?
The football delay on the second episode did suck. It's not like that game was tied 20-20 at Orville's regular time. That game was already a stomping.
Discovery is on CBS All Access, which you can get a free trial for. I don't think Jason Issacs was bad mouthing fans; he was just being honest. The media took off with that and ran. He was just saying that he isn't going to be slave to critics. Discovery is its own show, and his artistry comes from within. I have seen him around fans, and he was great. A lot better than a certain actor who played an android...in a previous ST series.
What kept me from getting into DS9 was the premise. You're not exploring strange new worlds, pushing the boundaries of humanity. No, you sit in a starbase slab of steel, spinning around all day. Yes mom, that's what I want to do when I grow up. Makes me think it's a show about office politics in space. Now if it was a FUNNY show about office politics in space, now that I would watch.
